Wow, I had a similar experience and will never buy another Gucci bag. Brought my three-way bag (can be worn as a backpack, shoulder bag or messenger bag) into the Gucci story because I'd lost one of the backpack straps and needed a replacement. Instead of just using the style/model number and ordering a strap, they insisted on sending the entire bag off. I was told that the repair would take about 12 weeks, but four months later, I still hadn't heard from them. After calling and not getting a response, I went to the store, and after 15 minutes of searching they finally found my bag---unrepaired with a letter on Gucci letterhead saying that they couldn't locate the necessary hardware for a replacement strap. Mind you all they needed was ONE hook to make a replacement strap, or TWO hooks if they couldn't match the hook on the remaining strap. While I have a hard time believing that a 95 year old luxury goods company doesn't maintain a hardware inventory for at least a few decades of product releases (my bag was only 3 years old) for this kind of repair, I find it even harder to believe they don't have any repair people on staff competent enough to figure out hardware substitutions. Given that Gucci's shoddy repair/replacement service is on par with other established brands like Fendi and Prada, I've decided to either spend more for an Hermes bag or just buy a less expensive Coach bags, since their higher end bags are really comparable in quality to Gucci and Fendi, while their repair operations are far superior.

I bought the Marmont small bag less than 2 weeks ago and today I noticed the strap has a small mark, it looks like is peeling, same thing the zipper part, like is going to start peeling soon, so I’m thinking of taking it back cuz I don’t think that’s a normal 1 week wear issue. So I took it today to the Gucci store, and the SA told me that in her “ professional opinion “ the peeling is normal, after one week of use? WTF

That's really bad service. I have a bag that needs repairing but I'm not taking it there lol. Mine has come undone on the handle strap to . I'm thinking of repairing myself 🙄 Or a local shoe repair. Thanks for the heads up. I don't have a recipe so can't get a exchange

Not an isolated incident. I took my tote bag for repair in June 2015 to the Houston Gucci store. Long story short, after multiple phone calls when the estimated 6 weeks time was up, come to find out the bag CAN NOT be repaired. They gave me store credit and I got a different tote. Same time of the year and same soft reasoning. My thought: these to be repaired bags got lost or stolen🙄

I sent in my Gucci luggage purchased in 2012 they kept the bag six months only to send it back with a note saying it was vintage they no longer have the parts 🤷🏾♂️ I didn’t get a replacement or store credit 2000 + out the window and is 2012 really vintage
