I have a black velvet Ysl Bag. The imprint from the chain still show but that doesn’t bother me. I just prefer velvet over leather because it’s just soo soo classy and soft :)

Great review! I have the leather version and it is not a problem for structure. When you purchase this bag you know it is not a hard bag. The leather is so beautiful and feels luxurious and everything about the bag is comfortable and hard wearing. I would recommend the leather for sure. Now.....I also love the velvet one you showed here.......

Thank you lovely! Velvet is quite delicate but I don't find it that hard to care for to be honest. I just avoid the rain and other than that I don't really baby it. I also love lambskin too and like having different types of leathers and material in my collection too just to mix it up a bit. Both however definitely not everyday bags. Thank you for watching! :)

Great in-depth review as always Mel! I personally love the Marmont in velvet also vs the leather also for the same reason when I tried it on in terms of structure (aside from the luxuriously soft feeling!). Hope you have a great day lovely xx

Yay so glad you loved it! Yup if it's an occasional bag then yes velvet is just gorgeous and will remain that way for years to come if you take care and store it properly. Oh I forgot to mention when I store it, I place my dustbag under it too just to give it some cushioning to avoid direct contact with the hard surface. Thank you for watching! xo

Great review! I'm thinking of getting this purse also! I don't care for the wear and tear. If there is worn out it shows you use it a lot and got your money's worth! One question, does the leather strap dig into your shoulder if you wear it cross body for a long amount of time?

I got the black velvet one and the chain mark do show on it as well but as you said, it disappears after a while. One thing I'm not too fond of tho is the fact that the bag kind of flattens if you don't fill it, so I don't think it keeps it shape but I have the medium so it might differ to the mini. I did expect that when I bought it but others might not. xx

I just bought this bag and I'm planning to use it like 3 times a week tops but for normal use, not evenings or dinners. I am 21 so I mostly go to the movies maybe to hang out with friends, I am hesitant to exchange it for the leather version even though I love the velvet much more. Hi Lucia, what colour is the one you got? It is hard to say exactly as I don't wear my bag that often so I can't tell your from personal experience. If you look after velvet well it can last many many years. I agree with you though I really like the velvet more than the leather.... if you love it then keep it and just be a little more careful with it. xx

I heard your comment on the belt. Just bought mine yesterday, wore once and it has marks. Almost as if the brushed finished has rubbed off exposing a shiny gold finish. Was this your issue? I am heartbroken. Taking it back to store Monday.

I don't know anything about Gucci's production as a sewer I imagine it is reinforced with interfacing. Interfacing looks something like a dryer sheet. It comes in multiple stiffnesses, depending on your needs. It is then ironed or sewn onto a piece of fabric.
