let's take a moment to appreciate that in a sport where the team principals and drivers are making millions of dollars, the marshals get paid nothing. is there really a place in society where the bottom half doesn't get absolutely screwed over?! i can't wait to find out what an engineer makes. 10% over an engineer working at the local milk factory?

I can't see what the big deal is with Guenther. I really can't. Yes, he's a character and he's entertaining. But I can see why he was let go by Haas. He's just not as bright or switched on as he thinks he is.

So the caution that hampered Lando turned out to be unnecessary, but if it was necessary, it still would have hampered Lando. The issue is not whether a Steward acted correctly, but rather that bad luck can dramatically affect starting positions in sport where starting position is a huge deal

Funnily enough, they lived in Eastern Switzerland, not that far from Merano. Miss them dearly, them and my grandmother, they were a lot of fun together. Loved skiing, beer drinking and just lollygagging around and making fun of each other into their early 90s. Hope Guenther lives that long! The world needs more people like him.

F1 is unique in its technical battles between the teams. I expect them all to push the limits, and I expect them all to cry foul when it's not going their way. It has a worthwhile hit rate, too, even if it only results in a rule change at the end of a season.

In my opinion, Lando was just unlucky. But also, Q1 is 18 minutes long and that’s the risk you take trying to sneak in your fastest lap at the very end of the session.

All the people who are hyping up Colapinto and Bearman after just a decent weekend are clueless about this motorsport. They should get reminded of Nyck de Vries. Did veery well as a rookie in his first ever races, but then was abomination of a driver. So much that he had to retire from professional motorsports and last news I've heard about him had him studying something different which has nothing to do with motorsports. Literally anyone can have a couple of good races and that might even happen in the beginning when you are a rookie, but that doesn't make you anything more than decent and someone who deserves a shot. That's what both Bearman and Colapinto are as of right now. Decent drivers who deserve a shot for at least one full season from start to finish. They have proven they are good enough to deserve that chance. But nothing more. People should stop hyping them up for nothing.

de Vries is doing quite well in the Toyota Gazoo factory team in WEC. You're thinking of Latifi that has moved onto studies outside of motorsports.

i think that maybe Red Bull is keeping Checo mostly because Verstappen is already looking for other cars to jump out and they seem very unclear about doing something to stop that from happening... And Perez is good but hes not looking for other teams. BUT my point is: they know that Verstappen leaving means losing tons of money. Checo is the second rich kid on the block only behind the Strolls (which also happen to be currently offering Max a seat on car made by Newey lmao) and brings tons of cash to Red Bull team. I dont think they want to be in a tight spot trying to get back on their best shape and struggling with money at the same time. But this is just me wearing my thin foil hat smoking mexican zaza.

Everybody said D3 would beat Tsunoda this year and get the drive next year at RB. That was D3's condition for promotion but he failed so he doesn't deserve the RB seat and should be out of VCARB to let Lawson or Hadjar (if he wins F2) in next year. As much as I love D3 I say to look at the Audi drive his time at RB is ending. The only reason why he is in RB family is that he is Christian's "child."

Sauber is in limbo. And they have been in this limbo for 4 years. They invest as little as possible but as much as necessary. It has to be as shitty a situation as one can imagine. I blame AUDI here, they want to buy a team, but want to do no preparation in the run-up to understand the car, design the aero and the chassis, but also the systems and processes so that you hit the road running when you are a fully fledged works team. They should be aiming 5th or 6th in their inaugural year and these last 3 years are real world opportunities lost.
@nuztuz9033 ай бұрын
personally I think they are investing in facilities and such instead of developing the car to give Audi something to work with come the new regs
@cococalm3 ай бұрын
@@nuztuz903 What facilities ? They already have them in Hinwil. It is not facilities they need, it is how their power unit will work with the aero package they are to develop. Only that today, they do not have their "own" working data to work with, they come in '26 green instead of having 2 - 3 years working knowledge and a power unit that already fits into their system and processes.

I wish you guys could cover it, but recently Esteban Gutierrez was in an F1 Mexican podcast with Memo Rojas talking about Guenther. Esteban pretty much said he didn't performed well because the car had retired multiple times. When they let him go, he told Guenther that part him not getting points was also not getting a reliable car, but Guenther didn't take any accountability about that and he lost some respect for him. Also, said he was never fit for team principal director. 👀

The incident was a result of Sainz who was quicker than Checco on the accellerator which resulted in Checcos front right, being in front of Sainz's left rear, making contact. Carlos having power on the right rear, he veers uncontrollably to the left pushing Checco into the wall. Racing incident all day long.

The track veers slightly left and Carlos's line was much more to the outside than others had been doing. It's not whether checo squeezed. It's that checo couldn't see because of the sun after her turned to the right to perform the squeeze. Checo relatively slowly went into Carlos on a excessive squeeze.
