I sampled this fragrance twice on my skin then I decided to buy it last week after months because I normally dislike vanilla on my skin. Now I’m addicted to it. I personally don’t think it’s a gourmand fragrance. You described very well the feeling of this Shalimar flanker.

I’m so tempted to invest on Shalimar and it’s flankers....I need to chill from buying too much fragrances...and I hear the original is super intense smelling, but I don’t mind....so when I have the chance I’m gonna go sample it. I’m all for vintage fragrances! Hey, you should do a review on White Shoulders by Evyn. I believe this perfume was released in the 40s or even earlier. It was apparently one of Lucielle Ball’s favorite scents. I’m curious to hear your review. BTW, my mom is a big white shoulders lover.

Best clearest most interesting review ever on this parfum, I so like your detailed interpretation of the scent.. You do really care and pay attention to all the shades that a scent evoques.. BRAVO, just a Nose does that! You stand from other reviewers to all another level! And you are honest, I love it! This is the first video I watched of yours will go lok for others, for the comforting fragrances too, but for how you review you will be my referring point to understand a fragrance! I am curious to know what could you think about L'INTERDIT both EDP and EDT, if you haven't already reviewed them.. Thank you and bless you!

Guerlain Soufflé Intense smells beautiful on my skin. I love Guerlain! I also have L’heure de bleu, Mitsouko and Samsara. Samsara smells lovely on my skin.

What a great review. I share your dislike of loud vanilla things, but I love how vanilla is blended in No5 Eau Premiere. Your description -- the vanilla doesn't stand out, it only makes the citrus and aldehyes smooth and soft -- really made me think about Eau Premiere. Thanks for your review.

My favourite Shalimar flanker ! Perfect season to wear it. I'm quite difficult on vanilla. It's either a hit or miss for me and this one is a hit ! 👍

I have the Souffle Intense and it's beautiful. I wore it in the spring and it was too sharp. I'll be pulling it out again soon since it's a bit cooler.

Awesome review and such and excellent description of the scent, its story, its impression etc. Now I know why I keep wanting this scent :). I had a sample and finished it right away. I do have a sample of a vintage Shalimar, and although it is considered by many as the best perfume ever made, right now Souffle de parfum is a better fit for me.

I found this to be a very interesting review , I just blind bought this perfume this past Friday, I don’t have a perfume that has a citrus note in it. I don’t like clean fragrances, I do like a little fresh scent, though, if that makes sense. so I decided to try this one. I can’t wait to try this one ❤️👏

SuperD! I’ve recently acquired this one in 30ml form; and while this fragrance is “unique”, it does remind me of the wear experience that I have with Maison Dior’s Gris Montaigne (now Gris Dior), as if both fragrances shared the similar, if not same scent profile... Would you agree with this opinion? By the way, this “breath” or “inspiration” does evoke a certain feeling of nostalgia that I cannot seem to pinpoint or describe. While many agree to it being a “happy” scent, but it does trigger in me certain feelings of a nostalgic sadness; the same one that is provoked by wearing Shalimar Eau De Toilette / Eau De Parfum. In that sense, I see how these two are related.

I’m glad you did a review for this. I gave it to my mom along with Samara when I first was pregnant and I didn’t think I liked them. Now I’m wanting to give them both another shot. My moms m is bringing them back when she comes to visit. She doesn’t mind the Indian giving. I give her so many or my rejects. She wears one or 2 perfumes at a time until they are finish so many perfumes are just sitting there being unloved. Do you have a review for Molinard Nirmala? I have the vintage, I’m sure it’s been reformulated.

Thank you. Yes, when pregnant the entire way of perceiving smells changes and sometimes the perfumes one loves might not be tolerated any more but that changes again after pregnancy. I have not reviewed Nirmala. xoxo

I do love this scent. I smell some sort of light melon in it among other things. I know it’s not a note in it, but to my nose in the one I have, I smell it and I adore it.

I’m interested in trying this one. I’m married to. French teacher so I’m always asking him how I should pronounce the names of different perfumes. You do a very good job with your French. BTW, I’m a big fan of John Waters and Pedro Almodovar too! 😂

Daniel Costigan I suggest keeping an eye out for it on eBay, every now and then you’ll find someone who is selling their own perfume . You will have to settle for a used bottle but it’s best than the awful new reformulated perfumes of today. I’ve been lucky to have purchased some awesome rare vintage perfumes. But u have to be there just at the right time coz there are ppl there all ready to snap it up quick. Good luck. I hope you find it.
