Just a note, you did this correctly this game but it's a common area for mistakes. If a unit has a specific inspiring tag they still ALWAYS inspire themselves even if they do not fall within the tag. E.g. the Dwarven warmaster who is inspiring to war engines also inspires himself. This rule is true for auras as well

Sorry for double commenting. There is no 'sucking back' or anything like when the kracken charged the flank at 37:35. The charging unit moves over as much as possible and then it just stays misaligned. Also you need to reread the blood boil spell. You roll a number of dice equal to the damage on the unit which hit on 4+ and then roll to damage as normal.

40:40ish, blood boil isn't just one dice. You get a number of attacks equal to the number of hits on the target unit. However because the warlock was injured in the previous round, he's actually disordered and can't shoot anyway... so it worked out.

Pumped to hit this later! Excited to see Owen finish up an army, curious how it works for him - I play Trident and it can certainly be a struggle, particularly against blunt objects like Ogres.

Trident 4: That kraken behind the giant could have reared the giant or more likely flanked the ogres fighting the queen. Having a counter-charge doesn't mean you have to take it, if your LOS is clear to other things and you've got enough move / pivots. Also charged units don't slide to chargers, only chargers slide to align. I think that's a WHFB holdover with closing the door (not a KOW thing). ALSO moving forward after a successful rout is called overrun not surge ;) That's a very different that will eventually come up with other armies / if Owen makes water elementals.

Super fun game and you guys were really relaxed about it. Great edit. Thanks for the beautifully painted armies. Some rules I'm not entirely sure were clear from the new edition: for the charge range it is no longer necessary to measure from leader point (any part of the base will do) and you can also go sideways after routing another unit . Fury always make you able to counterattack, no rolls necessary (only roll for headstrong tests), go Fury!

The giant's fury you don't have to roll for,. Fury just works . It allows you to counter charge but not anything else

You shuffle the charged unit against the opponent center/leader point as much as possible, not the opposite. The Kraken at the charge 37:30 should have shuffled up as much as possible, not the Ogres. You adapt the the charged unit after the enemy unit unless it's and individual.

The ogre army was fine, but that Trident Realm list is brutal. I think most lists would struggle against it, and thinking through what I usually take at that level, I'm thinking I'd get wrecked.

The models are a beut, the bases matching the whole feeling of the army. What I think Kings of War represents as a game, a hobbyist challenge for tactical based fantasy game. Kind of the old Warhammer Fantasy deal, but still a bit faster to play.

Also - there is no adjusting units to enemy leader point. 37:30. You stay where You are. Move kraken to touch as much of the enemy as possible. Do not move charged units.

Bloodboil: 1. Disordered units can not cast any spells, 2. You roll X dice on 4+ when X is the number of wounds on a targeted unit. Not a single D6 like You did. BTW. You can not Withrdawl if You move within of an enemy unit other than the one You withdrawl from.

Hint for next time ash, if Owen keeps taking this list bring in a couple boomer hordes and just wreck his army before he can get into combat, while giants are gorgeous trident realms is their natural counter as ensnare creates unreliable 5+ and the CS4 is wasted on def 3 and 4 units... they do love themselves some crab though.

Thank you for posting more KoW! I love the game and the community but we are so far terrible at producing Battle Reports. What sort of camera do you use to record your videos? Sorry for the rule corrections you've probably heard before. When you charge over a fence or rough terrain without strider or pathfinder for rough terrain the term is hindered instead of disordered. Disordered is where you have taken damage in melee which removes thunderous charge and prevents ranged attacks and spells for that next round. Fury lets you automatically countercharge in melee even if you are wavered. The 3+ rule is headstrong, which if you are wavered and make the headstrong roll of 3+ you can take a normal action, fury only lets you countercharge. When engaging into combat the attacker has to minimize the possible contact with the defender. The defender only ever moves if the attacker has a valid countercharge and the defender must move into contact with the attacker.

At 19:00 you don't double or triple for attacking an individual flank or rear, similarly individuals don't double or triple their attacks against another unit except war machines. Page 34 of Gamers ed rulebook. (Edit, was large infantry with nimble, not heavy infantry with individual)
