Great to see some Alpha Strike play. I feel it makes Battletech way more inviting to new players and for speed games Hex Alpha Strike is the best of both Battletech worlds with no measuring and no arguments about range or LOS.

4:27 That Archer model is great. Catapult Faceplant From Above 😍😍 Jay makes for a fun and voluble opponent. I find the larger scale engagements in Alpha Strike to be more fun; though using Classic Battletech for duels would be cool. I'm looking forward to the campaign games. Having an emergent storyline is one of my favourite things about wargaming. I'm also looking forward to let's play Eavyhay Utyday from Ash in the near future 😉

Trash talking in Battletech seems more civil than other games.. which is awesome.. kids have been wanting to play a tabletop.. we got neverwinter D&D campaign so they already do tabletop.. imma do the whole thing with the models and all i think they will enjoy it we play board games almost every day.

Can you explain specifically how you are doing dice rolls at the beginning of videos when they are different than base rules? Or perhaps put them in the description or a pinned comment?

Like I dont understand the point of a pilot die when you are rolling a d12 per hit anyway.

@@KujakuDM So d12 is just a switch from 2d6. It changes the odds, personally not for the better, as it tends to make games a lot more swingy. You will see more low and high numbers, but less midrange numbers

@@ArthurBugorski I'm an old school mini man so all my Battletech is lead free pewter. Some IronWind Metals mechs are preety bad some are great, but most of their tanks are great, especially all the clan ones.... shame Clanners frown on tank use.

You don’t want averages mechanically using Variable Damage, you want a linear result system. If there was a TN Cap for mods in Battletech a bell curved resolution would make sense, but they scale linearly. A linear resolution makes much more sense mechanically and also is much easier to resolve quickly.
