FUN FACTS: #1 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground is actually a cover song. Original Higher Ground is a song by Stevie Wonder. #2 The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army bass line is originally played with regular guitar using octave effect to lower pitch. Justin Chancellor’s tone is atypical and very distinct. I remember patiently waiting for Fear Inoculum to come out, and I didn’t want to listen to the single that was released, as I wanted to experience the entire album as a whole for the first listening. I was driving in my car, turned on the radio, and within half a second recognized a Justin chancellor riff that I’d never heard before. I knew it must’ve been the new single, and Instantly shut off the radio.

Yes, bass lines can be played on many different instruments. The 7NA line is considered a bass line even though it's played on "regular" guitar. Most of The Doors bass lines were played on keyboard by Ray Manzarek but some were done in studio on bass guitar by their engineer Bruce Botnick (and one in particular was done by Jerry Scheff - Elvis' bassist).

thanks for this one. I suddenly rememberedwhy I started to be a bassplayer the sheer joy of being in the rythm. I suffered brain damage last year.. since being busy getting it all back on guitar..

now I realise my body actually remembers how to play bass... my rythm feels on time, .. I can even count.. back where I came from!!;) Blessed be, please make more video's like this. Briiliant! Me at no. 11: "Oh nice! Rapper's Delight by Sugarhill Gang!" Answer: "Chic" by Good Times Me:😦
@Shakooba4 жыл бұрын
An extremely common trend in rap songs is to sample music. Rapper’s Delight took the bass line from Good Times.
@neilllugtenburg94694 жыл бұрын
@@Shakooba hahaha, I understand that since it was identical, I just didn't know that song before this so I thought it was original. And sampling is very common these days (sadly)!

@@neilllugtenburg9469 i wouldnt say sadly i think sampling (with the original artist permission) can be a transformative art piece standing on its own will adding to previous work
@neilllugtenburg94694 жыл бұрын
@@ryanburdette5078 I used sadly in the context that people sometimes get lazy when it comes to music. Some people don't push themselves as hard as they could, you get what I mean? I don't have an issue with it, but I heard songs where they used samples and I was like this doesn't sound right. They used it in a bad way, or it didn't fit the song.

I've never seen anyone play seven nation army on multiple strings before. I've always seen it done on 1 string or power corded across 2 strings and basically using like 90% of the fretboard to do it. The way you played it looks way more efficient
