FUN FACTS: #1 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground is actually a cover song. Original Higher Ground is a song by Stevie Wonder. #2 The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army bass line is originally played with regular guitar using octave effect to lower pitch. Do you know anything else interesting related? You can write it down below in this comment treat :)

Justin Chancellor’s tone is atypical and very distinct. I remember patiently waiting for Fear Inoculum to come out, and I didn’t want to listen to the single that was released, as I wanted to experience the entire album as a whole for the first listening. I was driving in my car, turned on the radio, and within half a second recognized a Justin chancellor riff that I’d never heard before. I knew it must’ve been the new single, and Instantly shut off the radio.

Some personal favorites that didn't happen to make the list (without repeating artists): "Let's Dance" - David Bowie "Coyote" - Joni Mitchell "Silly Love Songs" - Wings "The National Anthem" - Radiohead "N.I.B." - Black Sabbath "The Trooper" - Iron Maiden "It's the Same Old Song" - The Four Tops "La Grange" - ZZ Top "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)" - Parliament "Sabotage" - Beastie Boys "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" - Primus "Only in Dreams" - Weezer ...I'm sure I could think of others, but that's 12, halfway to another one of these.

Yes, bass lines can be played on many different instruments. The 7NA line is considered a bass line even though it's played on "regular" guitar. Most of The Doors bass lines were played on keyboard by Ray Manzarek but some were done in studio on bass guitar by their engineer Bruce Botnick (and one in particular was done by Jerry Scheff - Elvis' bassist).
