I think I'd use a thicker top coat first to fill in any dips and top that with matte. Beautiful!! ❤

I like doing this effect for my clients with solid bright colors and then top it with black. Then do a thick layer of builder gel to even out the surface of the nail. Ends up having a thermochromatic effect.

I've seen a similar look but more of a geode with using acetone done on tumblers. Put color, then glitter layer, then color. Take q-tip with acetone and just remove spots to make a geode look. I wonder if that would be quicker or easier to achieve this look

I'm curious. When you take off layers in little spots does it leave the nail lumpy?

No cause you kinda feather it - it softens it - but the layers weren’t thick enough to cause that

hii! as a nail tech, could you give advice on how to prevent gel nail allergy? I've been hearing it more often these days and although nothing happened to me yet (I've been doing my own acrlyic nail tips and art for a few months now) I'm just worried... aside from getting gel nail polish on skin for long period of time to undercuring .. what could be the cause?

Purchasing quality products is important. And making sure your lamp is compatible with your gel. Under cured products is the most common reason allergies develop

What I don’t understand about techniques like this is that the gel polish is in really thick layers, which is the opposite of what we are taught to do, otherwise the gel will wrinkle and not cure. I’ve had that problem with much thinner layers than used in this video.

Hhhmmm well I can say all gel polish application does likes to be thin. I know it seems thick in video but it’s filmed VERY close. But I can assure you it’s rather thin. If it was too thick you would’ve seen me struggle with wrinkling. So it was perfect
