Uber and Lyft will be leaving Minneapolis next month, after the City Council set a new law that all rideshare drivers be paid the local minimum wage of $15.57 an hour. This is leading to a larger debate nationwide; how do cities make sure gig workers are being compensated fairly while keeping the affordability for riders down as well? And how much money do rideshare drivers REALLY take home for each ride they complete?
