For some reason I kept wanting to guess Cave Story for anything remotely chip-tune sounding... then I got to cave story and remembered how distinct that tune is and can't believe I thought any of the other songs were that.

16 was the easiest and fastest guess of all time for me. Hundreds of hours in that game, I can recognize cave story in a heartbeat. Fun fact, its title theme is also the same as the Plantation area.

This should be a really fun one! I'm not that experienced with indie games and have lagging behind some of the more recent indie releases, but I've played some of the popular ones, so I think I'll do at least OK in this one! Let's go: 01 - Cuphead ✅ (already starting with a banger ost!) 02 - I feel like I've heard this one before, but can't remember where. Oh no, I've already used this before. Damn. OK. So, I'm gonna say this is Spelunky, whatever lol ❌ (HONK!) 19 - I hate that I know this one. Great game, sad that it has become such a meme lol. It's Undertale lol ✅ 20 - Hollow Knight ✅ 21 - A Hat in Time ✅ (I'm glad this was the last one because it is one of my favorite indie games of all time, probably my favorite one to be honest!) 11/21 OK, about half way there, around where I expected lol

#21 isn’t Yooka-Laylee, but the song was written by Yooka-Laylee’s composer, so it definitely sounds like it could be from that game.

@@TheVideoGameProfessors Oh wow, I had no idea that Grant composed it, and Grant is my favorite composer of all time! Never seen him talking about it, but great to know, definitely a TIL moment for me lol

@@AlefSousa017 Grant composed the spaceship theme, which does ooze with that Kirkhope charm. Pretty sure he was supposed to do more songs for the game, but the devs had a better grasp of what they wanted than he did, and ultimately, he and the team decided mutually that they would be better composing the rest of the music themselves. It's a shame that there weren't more Grant songs to accompany the game. But at the same time, there are so many great tunes in the game, so it's hard to complain.

You need better pixel art, need better art direction in general.

@@TheVideoGameProfessors That projector screen thingy; make sure the lines on it have the same thickness as the rest of the pixel art. Either make all the letters pixely or try to find better typefaces to use for the non-pixel text. The professor and his assistant; if you really care and have the time or money, redo them, they can look better, there's also something off about their color, on my screen I almost can't see the brown of the assistant's cane, it blends in with the pink of her clothes, her skin tone also blends too much with the yellow of her hair, there needs to be more contrast between those color, watch your video on different screens to see how the color differs, if you care tho. There's a radial gradient that you're using in your video it seems to be on top of all the other assets and it looks like it's messing up the color of the characters, not sure but if so, fixing that may help with the colors a bit? That’s my humble advice, designing takes time.

Rocket League was a proper indie game for a few years before it started being published by a larger studio. This is true of Fall Guys, as well. We know these games aren’t quintessential indie games, but we felt we should include a few games with a larger reach.
