When he was playing mccree, he missed too many shots. He was doing okay under no pressure, but obviously when he was being pressured (such as when the team was losing the obj, or he was too close to tanks, etc.) he missed a ton. And he was spamming jumps all day long while playing a hitscan, which punished his aim as well. This is obviously below plat, could be even worse but like you mentioned his positioning and game sense were okay-ish, I would say "mid gold" makes sense.

I am convinced Gold is purgatory for ALL ranks to drive each other insane until SR stops mattering to them and they either improve and go up to plat or don't care anymore and meme in silver. Gold is seriously a wild placement. You have this widow/mcree which honestly should be mid-plat and the really well coordinated team comp/playing together at the beginning but then you have the lucio-one-trick, random bastion/orisa comp, awful healing (go back and watch,) the ash that holds her ult for an eternity and won't switch.

Gamesense>Game mechanics. Just based on me moving from Console to PC (2964 is highest and was on DPS Season 19 for Console) I got to Diamond (Current Peak on Tank is 3079 this season on PC) by just my Gamesense and Mediocre aim with MnK. My aim was alright but as my tracking and stuff got better the Mechanics caught up and I was moving up. Sadly I keep dropping to around 2850-2950.

That's just not true though. This guys has decent widow aim in gold which is not impressive at all. If any gm widow plays in gold they would have 80 percent accuracy and 40 percent crit. Gamesense matters but aim is the main deciding factor for widow difference in rank.

When talking about players playing Hog and Ball at around 3:30, the reasons why people play hog and ball as the tank line mainly comes down to two things. One, people who play main tank get tired of getting beaten up by the enemy team and want to do more damage with characters like hog and ball and at the same time want to have more fun while doing it. Two, DPS players who queue up as tank and play the closest thing to damage that being hog and ball and at the same time not have to go through the struggles of what main tank players go through every single day.

My guess is 2800: This guy shows that he can pop off and in high plat you can have ridiculous games that make you feel really good about your gameplay, but they lack situational awareness and their aim is usually slower than masters and GM. I noticed when he was trying to shoot the Lucio on the first point (the Lucio was jumping around) now Neptuno told me that if a Lucio is jumping to avoid Widow shots he’s not GM and he’s most likely not masters because master widows can hit a jumping Lucio. I’m also skeptical on the last attack where he stays Junkrat instead of Echo. Echo would’ve been a lot better than Junkrat because her spam is ridiculous and just as good as Junkrats. Also when he was mccree when the Sombra EMP’d he wasn’t ult tracking, he tried to flash the rein but couldn’t because he got EMP’d. SR: 2394 Wasn’t expecting that but that could also be because he doesn’t play the game a lot and doesn’t have time to grind. Or he plays with friends a lot who are lower SR.

I think this section (Guess The Rank) its has been getting harder and harder based on the fact that Overwatch is now a 4 years old game and the players, at least the majority , have a substantial understanding of the mechanics and the fundamentals of the game, beside that the content on KZbin, reddit and other platform is huge. I saw many good things in the first two games but then the last game was chaos, desperation and some questionable decisions about positioning. I would it said that this was a medium platinum game.

dont play genji chances are youre better at most other dps and you probably don’t get nanoblades which are really good. tracer flank and try to duel theor tracer otherwise just oneclip the supports and escape. soldier just aim

You mentioned not turning on your ac unit because of the noise. I don’t know what graphics card you have in your computer, but if it’s an RTX 20xx series card, you should check out the software from NVidia called RTX Voice. It filters out quite literally any noice that isn’t talking, so fans, keyboard clicks, stuff like that. I live in Texas, so I almost always have the AC on and blowing right towards me, but everyone I talk to in game or in discord say they don’t hear any of it, just me talking.

As a gold player, I was watching this game surprised by how high sty was guessing this players skill rating was as it felt like the flow of the game seemed very similar to many of my own games. I feel that lower ranks have progressed not substantially over the years, but more than what higher skilled players are to believe because no one but low skilled players experience low skill gameplay and only we can see the difference in our average games. The reputation of gold is far lower than what I believe it deserves amongst the overwatch community because of its reputation from earlier seasons and leaves high tier players that haven’t been lower than 4000 SR in confusion at how a gold player can play with “such surprising game sense and mechanical ability” . This is how we play now.

Tank line is the easiest to determine a loss before the match starts, but it is not the easiest to carry. I can play the good tank comps, but if they also have a good tank comp the carry potential, imho is much higher in ashe or tracer

No tanks do carry they have the best ultimates and the most carry potential and just dive the ashe and hog hook the tracer if your good enough that would carry

It is very hard to "carry" as tank, that's why they have to bribe people to do it. You are almost completely at the mercy of your healers and dps.

On xbox i have 85 horizontal, 75 vertical but i would start low and work up in degrees of five as you get used to it
