This was actually pretty interesting to watch because there is an unwritten rule about wrestling themes that the first three seconds must be recognizable enough so that the audience instantly knows who's coming. Also that last one was devious. I repect it.

Yup. When Paul E wanted to license music for the CD, he had to use covers because they couldn't afford rights to the originals. Same reason that it has Grinspoon's version of Snap your Fingers instead of the original by Prong.
