Eg Gay person: you’re just gay and don’t know it yet Straight person: you’re just straight and are in a phase When the reality is, that bi people exist, and the person saying it, just has their own issues and insecurities about it. Sometimes including wanting that person to be their sexuality so badly because they’re desperate to have them as a partner. My understanding of it -a bi person.

I swear to god I screamed when the asexual woman said she was ace! Ace is not often seen or represented so not a lot of people know about it. Not feeling sexual attraction towards people but still feeling romantic or physical attraction is completely normal. Asexual is a spectrum and some feel more put off by the idea of sex than others, and that’s okay too. Simply put: “I don’t want sex, I want kisses and cuddles.”

Honestly I think the reason why asexuality isn’t as represented or “seen” like you say, is because of how broad the spectrum is. Take the woman in the video for example; she identifies as ace but still has a sexual relationship with her husband which is generally not how asexuality is portrayed and again, shows how broad the spectrum is. When you look at it this way, I think a lot of people could potentially be ace but just never realize it.. at this point it’s almost easier to just forget the labels
@charlottesimpson16193 жыл бұрын
Genuinely asking, can asexuals not like kissing too? I feel so lost lmao :(
@flippingawesome70793 жыл бұрын
@@charlottesimpson1619 Most of the time, Asexual means not enjoying or craving sexual desire. The prefix “A” means “not” or “without” Think of the word Atheist, the A at the beginning means “non”, so Atheist means non-believer. Asexual means non-sexual. I think not enjoying kissing would fall more under Aromantic (not feeling romantic attraction). Remember, Asexual in general is really just a spectrum. Some aces may partake in sex like the woman from the video, others may be repulsed by it, and some might just feel neutral about it (like myself).

@@Z5Z5Z5 Not that you’re wrong for having that impression (everyone can form their own opinions, of course), but I would kindly ask that you ponder on why you think that, because lesbians are often stereotyped as “arrogant” just for existing openly. None of us are immune to that bias. Ya know?
@mx.hyacinth3 жыл бұрын
I find her really interesting too, but the last comments about her possibly transitioning if she'd been younger kind of throw me off. As a young transmasculine person, I don't like the implication that transmasculinity is a new replacement for butches. You can perform and identify masculinity and not be a man, or even nonbinary. Female masculinity is a thing. I also get told a lot that I could just be a really butch lesbian (even though I don't only like women) because of this idea that there's not a clear division between our communities. I'm personally of the belief that if she genuinely was trans, she'd be more interested in the topic and in transitioning (not necessarily medically to be clear, just in general.)
