Pretty much all the other Russian Doll performances it was obviously Hanson, specifically Taylor has such a distinctive voice. This was the only one where it was hard to pick out his voice. On TV too it sounded better, maybe the way youtube compresses or something. But yeah, after they had the mask thing off and re-sang WAY better too. The other songs, as soon as Taylor sang I was like, yep, that's Hanson

Nick Carter has such a distinctive voice, but one that also kinda epitomized the boyband sound in the late 90s, so it almost seems too obvious that its him. Like, the nasal whine and the uncontrolled rasp are 500% his signature but also just the affectation you would put on to jokingly emulate any generic boyband singer. I guess Justin had the same nasal quality but his pronunciation is different and he didn't do that rasp, which is reliably present in all of Nick's vocal performances post puberty.

@@boop8871 yeah at least from the music i've heard, swedish accents are not very common. it'd be like hearing a french singer perform a country song, which could narrow it down a lot to things like pewdiepie vs. joel vs. [insert famous swedish people i dont know]

Glad that you get Nick Carter right. Didn't expect you to for some reason. Really wished that he won that season. His vocals were incredible throughout. But honestly, his distortion is one of the absolute best I have ever seen. It felt very safe and protected. Considering the vocal style was kept throughout the performance, I doubt the technique was unprotected. Also the fact, that later on, the scream that he did in that performance was very controlled and wasn't very intense as Steven Tyler did. I have rarely seen rock singers do distortions as safely and powerfully.
