Hey! I want to see the room transformed into a room for guests. I am very interested in seeing the Murphy bed down and where you tuck everything out of the way. I must admit, this was the best craft room tour ever. I was sorry when it was over. I think hanging the dollar tree signs is genius. Who doesn't have a good stock of love signs in their stash? LOL

So sweet! You did a terrific job. I had to giggle when you said that you couldn’t film your husband and you working together. My husband and I work together on diy projects all the time together and I wouldn’t film it either. He is the love of my life and a blessing but that doesn’t mean I haven’t considered hitting him with my hammer. 🤣

I have been struggling with what to do about needing my guest bed and needing my crafts for a few years now. I have tried so many ideas but got frustrated and finally put the bed in the garage. My adult boys end up on the couch now when they visit. I am going to 100% try to configure a Murphy Bed now! thank you so much for sharing!

What a cute and organized craft room! You did an amazing job!!! My craft room is in my office and I'm always trying to get it more organized. Course the craft part have pretty much taken over the office. I do like it when it's all cleaned up, which is usually not the case. Thank you for sharing.

Oh my gosh! I had to laugh when you said you and your husband do not work well together. Same with my husband and I. I come up with the ideas and he builds them but sometimes we accuse each other of having stepped out of the meeting when the first part of a conversation was explained. LOL, but been married for 48 years and that's just the way we roll. I love your craft room, it is beautiful but functional.

I'd like to see the barn doors open and the Murphy Bed out. Such a cool idea. I used to go to San Francisco for a couple days here and there, and stayed at an old hotel that had a Murphy Bed that we slept on. Such a trip to just hide your bed. Love it! The entire project looks great.

I follow many crafters on youtube and so far you are the best one, and this craft room is another proof of that. You always amaze me with your projects and one day I will find the courage and time to do the fairy house that you did. Maybe you could do a gnome house to put outside in the garden. I have a big fabric softener container and I was dreaming of a little fairy or gnome house with this as a base that I could put in my garden. I would like to see what you would do with that, I'm sure it would be amazing.

Great job. My husband and I have been completely gutting and remodeling our rental house. We live on a farm and have worked together for over 43 years. I think we normally do real well together. Check out the craft room closet “rehab” pulled off by the fellow that makes “EasyStud” inserts. (You’ll L O V E it!!!) His philosophy is SO truly inspired, and, simply put, is … Never store unlike items more than ONE DEEP. We’ve all done the reverse, as that’s how the storage spaces we’ve grown up with were always designed. Let’s face it, the cupboard beneath our kitchen sinks are just black holes; 12 cu.ft. of “we know not what” for certain.

I am glad you showed your mess before your organized. This is how my craft room is looking and has been this way for almost 5 years. I was taking card of my husband who was on hospice at the time and I had design team obligations. Yes, I could have gotten out of them, but thought they were a good distraction, so when he slept, I would go back and do what I needed to do and then leave the mess, again and again. Now it has taken me all this time to even want to go back and even think about cleaning up since my husband's passing almost 5 years ago. He would come in off the farm and sit and talk with me back there and I just couldn't go back there except to get things. So over the years, I have made it even worse! Now I am at the point I'm ready to get it back in shape. I plan on doing something very similar to my closet, I like how you did the lightening. Is it plugged in, in the closet or outside of the closet? I am in love with how you did your Murphy bed! You are so clever, I don't have a bed but if I did have to have a bed in my craft space, I would run with this idea! Amazing! I'm totally in awe of your stunning and organized crafty/guest room! Well done!!! Hugs, Brenda

LOL My husband is so talented but when I have an idea, I (of course) think I know the best way to accomplish it... but he usually has a way to make it more than I was thinking!! So, I get it! Your room is great! My craft room is also my Grandkids playroom/bedroom at our house. TOOOO much in a 11x12 room! Your desk/craft closet is AMAZING! Are you going to label all your bins? Rope lighting was a good idea! OMG your Murphy bed wall is AWESOME! Love love love it! I love the way you displayed your beads and paints! They say to display what brings us joy! Obviously this brings us joy! I love it! I didn't know you could paint those white tables! You are just overflowing with great knowledge! What a great idea! I wish you could get quarantined at my house! Just think what we could accomplish! HA HA Hope you have a blessed Easter!

Check out the fella that did the “craft closet” with “EasyStud” shelf supports. He has a video here on youtube. You AND your fella might be interested. And no, I have no ulterior motive, except that I TOTALLY appreciate (but cannot find a place to use…) his product, and ever more so his philosophy of “ONE ITEM DEEP”. Congrats on the new and improved craft room. I myself am trying to rack my brain on what to do for an area I have claimed in our basement. This gives me a few good ideas but, whew, it’s gonna be a job. Luckily I have a hubby who can do pretty much what he puts his mind to. However, like your situation I’ll just have to tell him my vision because I endorse NOT work well on projects. lol Wish me luck and please say a prayer for me.

Don’t know if you completed your basement-to-craft-haven yet, but you might want to check out the “EasyStud” youtuber. Super great ideas, and you just helped me figure out what I am going to do with a 9 drawer cart I have. It has the little plastic drawers that slide out, and each drawer is a different pastel color. I've never liked the colors in my room and had recently decided to paint them all one color. But which one? Now I've decided the faux galvanized look is what is going to look just perfect. I've pulled it off with a sign already, so I'm sure I can get it to work on the drawers. Can you tell me what kind of a makeover you plan for your little clear drawers with the turquoise?

Oh, Girl!! I’m in the same boat!! I went a bit nuts when I took the plunge into this craft, as, apparently there were a great many craft stores getting out of the business in 2018, and Tuesday Morning had a fabulous selection of their inventories. Needless to say, I now have a pretty good investment in “stuff”; so much so, I have issues just knowing what I DO have!! My crafting space has to be my kitchen, so, in the adjacent family room, I’m going for short bookcases behind the couch, with faux book spines I’ll be using to cover boxes housing the “hoard”. BTW, you might check out a fellow here on Y.T. that has a product (I think called “”Easystud”) , but mostly he has a really smart philosophy about storing anything. His take on being organized is to NEVER store ANYTHING more than 1 item deep unless it’s identical to the thing behind it. That’s why I’m going for bookcases. IF I choose box sizes judiciously I’ll be able to hold fast to that caveat and never again lose track of my “stuff”!! And, too, my new “library” would be a GREAT disguise for craft supplies that might otherwise be unsightly.
