On my latest trip to Europe I got the chance to try some amazing food in several countries on today's video I share the most memorable ones. This all takes place in Portugal in Lisban, Porto and Sindra. From local street food to casual restaurants I tried it all, the results was not what I was expecting.

Glad you enjoyed my country Guga! Just one thing, those pasteis de bacalhau are not the traditional ones. Those are a modernization of the classic. And of course, the best pasteis de bacalhau are the ones made by a Portuguese grandma or mother :D

Prego is called like that because on the bar that the recipe was invented the owned used to use a hammer to tender the meet, it made the sound of hammering a nail on the wall. And that when people knew that there was a "prego" leaving the kitchten :D

Dang, Guga, you missed one of the best things to eat in Porto: bifanas! There's a diner-style place ran by an old pops that has the best bifanas in Porto and they're dirt cheap too, like 3.5 euros/piece. The place is called "Sol e Sombra". I ate 5 in a sitting once, then came back 1 hour later and ate 3 more 😂

What you need to do is go to the Ritz Hotel, and get the wellington. Have tea, and get one of those bucket list experiences most people only dream of. It's survived both world wars. Might as well in case it's lost in the 3rd.

The title said Europe. I thought from the teaser intro, I recognized an area in Nuremberg I’ve been to. Amazing beef Bourgeon. Just one example, I hope you got a chance to go there. It’s an outdoor area near an old Lutheran church next to the main Central hub of the train station. Because I was there, I wanted local fare, but my coworkers went to the fast food chains that they recognized from the US. Take advantage if you get a chance to go to different places, try the local food, and the restaurants that are one of a kind. You can eat McDonald’s at home.

I love sardines if made properly. That first place looked amazing. When on vacation, booze at any hour is acceptable, provided you aren't driving anywhere 🤣That shot was cachaca. Love wifey reaching in to snag that chicken and piri piri, and yes medium rare is always better. Took me a couple of years to get my wifey to realize medium rare is better with steaks. Nice video.

BACALHAU is just cod fish in portuguese. Also if a place serves bolinhos de bacalhau with stuffing then it's a trap and usually not very good. The best ones are way smaller, roughly table spoon sized because that how you traditionally shape them, and just with salted cod shavings seasoned and fried in a batter.

I don't like that they leave uncovered food on the table for you to eat if you want because if you don't eat it, that means they'll likely just give it to the next person. Aside from it not being freshly prepared, the problem is that it's uncovered so you don't know if someone's tampered with it. I've seen some Asian restaurants leave stuff on the table and charges you if you eat it, but it'd be wrapped and usually something dry or preserved like nuts

love the video!! i do have to say though those pasteis de bacalhau are just one big tourist trap... the actual pasteis de bacalhau have nothing in them and you can get them at any random cafe and they would taste better than those. i dont think i have ever met a portuguese person that ever had anything good to say about those😭
