Clean guide Beardly ! Im glad to see a budget smiter video that doesn't use heaven's light, cuz you know, waste of monies ;) I have some few additions tho; Should be mentioned that the flail is -10 base speed and easy accessible from Fara act2 normal. Wich is why we choose it. Smite ias table with flail and lvl 20 fanaticism; IAS - attack speed - attacks per second 0 8 3.12 6 7 3.57 35 6 4.16 This means you can alter your setup as you go, since you hit max frames with only Treachery. If you swap into Smoke after Treachery fade is procced, you will need the 20 ias on amulet and 20 ias gloves ( Blood craft / LoH ) As we move on, to resistance, Uber Mephi conviction aura is lvl 20, so -125% Res. On top of the Hell penalty. This can be "overwritten" tho, if you use Conviction lvl 21 when you encounter him, but i think its waste of points to do it. But yeah, thats the reason for overcapping your resistance where you can ( 4pdia shield ) Also should mention that Sacred Rondanche as far as the elite pala shield bases go, it delivers the highest average damage per point in strength, wich makes it the best choice for this build since 58% block chance on it aswell, but can still go with cheaper options. As long as they have 30% all res. The "killing blow" will take a little longer tho. Shield on swap can be semi important if you make a mistake, die or something else. You want the res and block there too, people usually go with spirit pala shield there cause of fcr for the life tap on wand. If you really really want to do this early as possible and comfortably on ladder, we can alter in the setup. Slightly. Hehe Cat's eye is generally a bad idea in my opinion, since its only 20 ias and 25 dex it really offers a smiter. Prefer much more Highlords due to 30% light res. Or we can take it a step further and cheaper, use a Nokozan ( Or Rising Sun, wich makes Diablo's ads heal you ) and put some more points into Res Lightning in the skill tree. ( If you keep Treachery on that is, cause ias and Uber Diablos fire damage isnt impressive, he is kindda weak tbh ) So it doesn't hurt to put more into res lightning. Also if you have dracs, theres no need to use the blood belt. Rather put on a string of ears, tgods or something with plain resist, since its only for open wounds to counter the healing they do. If you dont, any 20% ias gloves or bloodcrafts 20% ias will do. LoH isnt a bad choice either due to res, but not the optimal. Cheapest is just plain 20% ias gloves. And if you only have the open wounds from blood belt, like 5-10%, dont worry. Open wounds is 200 frames (8 seconds), so its more than enough time to proc it again and the timer resets to 8 seconds. Or could go for 25 fhr on the blood belt, wich is really really nice. Gface is really really nice for sure, 100% cb is not needed however. So can go even cheaper and use a Rockstopper, or Blackhorn's. The difference is, as far as i remember, only a very few seconds in terms of kill speed. I prefer Gface tho, since i overall really really like the helmet. Also, mad props for using Manald, really nice move. I've used that in this setup for quite some time before getting a Dwarf for more life, or a wisp because................ Why not rofl ( This flat life scales with battle orders, unlike bul-khatos ring wich is life per level that don't scale ) Overall, very well put together bro. Clean, simple, easy to understand. Hope you are doing well, getting them Ber's :) Oh, and sorry for the wall of text, it kinda just... Happened

Slight Adjustment - thanks for the remarks bro. You're right about all of it. As I stated in the video (I think I did), this guide is not meant to be the end-all, be-all of budget Smiter guides. Other options are of course viable. This is simply the setup I used successfully many times. I also wanted to keep the video relatively short, so as to not inundate the viewer with too much information. I cut a lot out that I had originally put in there.

Thanks for your guide. I just did my first on ubers in single player. This will help me go a bit faster next time. I honestly didnt think about smoke. I just wore a low treachery with uncapped res. I'll make a smoke for the next run. I had dungos too. So maybe I'll use my ss as well as you said in a comment. I may not do another budget run for a while and instead just spend a long time in lower krast to get Lo and make a grief.

As a HC player, I always got a BO from a friend first also. I always liked Dwarf Star and TGods for even more max Rez, and something like Mosers for high Block chance freeing more stats up for Vit. As long as I capped out after Treachery I felt fine. Very good guide.

Pro tip: Nightsmoke belt is really nice for Ubers. +10 all res and especially the 50% damage to mana is really nice. I find that Baal ooms me a lot with his mana drain shit. With Nightsmoke and the stream of incoming damage you will never be oom, even with Baal and those Ghosts draining your mana all the time.

pianificationharry You get less resistances with a Pally Spirit and you don't really need any of the mods, except possibly FHR which is easier to get on other gear than resistances. The +2 skills isn't actually all that important on a Smiter like this, in my opinion. As you can see in the video, I have 0 +skills.

Shield Smite damage is basically irrevelant. The bulk of your damage comes from CB and OW.

Nice and clear, but could you tell me one more thing about the journey to Uber Tristram? KZbinrs and streamers are always skipping the part between entering red portal and reaching Lillith, Duriel and Izual. Some tips, how to get to them fast and efficient, would be very helpful. Especially for the beginners (like me, when I started UT-ing).

Cyhyraeth to be honest, I just wander around until I find the organ bosses. Duriel is usually immediately north of the waypoint, but if he's not, he could be anywhere. The worst feeling is finding one of the organ bosses and having a horde of trash mobs following you, so it's best to clear everything you run into. If using a Smiter, you can either keep swapping targets to keep everything stunned, or tunnel one down at a time if you have life tap active. This is in reference to while searching for the organ bosses. There's honestly not much to it. Just explore each of the three areas until you find them. I will note that Izual is usually easy to find because his area is more or less a linear path, and he's usually at the end of it. Alternatively, if you have a sorc or a friend who plays a sorc, you can just teleport around until you find the organ bosses. ;-) I hope that helps. I know it's not much to go off of, but it's the best answer I can give for your question.

question: i don't have draculs gloves. using life tap wand instead. However, i dont have open wounds, so i can't seem to finish them off. can i replace boots for gore rider for 10% open wounds? will it be enough and is it ok to sacrifice some crushing blow?

Yep that's absolutely fine. You can also look into a crafted blood belt to potentially get up to 10% open wounds. But Gore Riders are great boots and you will do just fine with them.

Koh1fds - an Enchant Sorc is actually on my list of projects to attempt a relatively budget Ubers build for. I have done a small amount of testing, and so far you're right. Even with hitting a very high IAS breakpoint, she doesn't attack quickly enough to proc life tap from Dracs often. Hopefully I can figure it out.

The build isn't necessarily designed to make you tanky. It is designed to kill Ubers with minimal gear. Hephasto has very high physical damage as well as Conviction Aura. If there were any spellcasters around while you fought Hephasto, they would hit very hard if you don't have high res under his Conviction. This build also lacks physical Damage Reduction, except for 15% if you precast Fade. In other words, Hephasto hits like a truck and this build cannot mitigate it. All it can do is block 75% of the time, soak hits and heal up after receiving damage via lifetap. Dying happens. That's why this is a softcore build. I wouldn't play this particular build in HC, it is simply too squishy. In terms of Hephasto, his hardest hitting physical attack is 170. If he crits, that's 340. If you happen to be amp'd when this happens, that's 680 damage, with 15% DR (Fade) that becomes 578. With 1190 health, that HURTS. Again, this build isn't really designed around Hephasto. It is designed around Ubers, which is primarily elemental damage. Even with all that, if you take 578 damage because he crits while you are amp'd, you should still be able to heal up if lifetap is active on him, presuming you are hitting IAS breakpoints. Was lifetap active? Was there other damage coming in? Was Fade procced? Were you amp'd? Honestly the most important question here is lifetap. Honestly if you want a tankier, less budget build, I would say something along the lines Stormshield with an Um rune socketed and a 15% Verdungos. Those two items will bring you to 50% physical DR, which is the cap (excluding overcapping for compensating for Decripify or Amp Damage). And of course things like life small charms and a CtA on swap would be important in helping the survivability factor as well. But those things aren't realistic in a budget-oriented build.

100 % cb (Gface, Gobtoes, black) 35% open wounds (dracs, 10% on blood belt). I switched from Akarahan rondache to Zakshield, and shored things up. Crowd control was tricky at times but, with the more smite dmg on shield ur build works (with a little patience). Thanks. One last question (again thanks for taking the time to reply). If I have resistances all shored up without the massive 50 from smoke, does it make sense to wear treachery all the time for that IAS bonus?

You could wear Treachery all the time, sure. Your breakpoints with a flail are (with level 20 Fanat) are [0 IAS = 8 frames], [6 IAS = 7 frames], and [35 IAS = 6 frames]. Remember you have 15% on Black. So in all honesty if you're already wearing Cat's Eye, you already hit the highest breakpoint. The nice thing about overcapping IAS is it can help against Duriel, since he has the unavoidable Holy Freeze aura. Another good thing about wearing Treachery constantly is you probably don't have to worry about Fade ever wearing out. If you wanted to, you could also wear Duress for more OW (it also has CB but you're at 100% anyway) for a bit more killspeed.

Play more defensively. I tend to play aggressively because I mostly play SC. But basically just take it slow. The gear should all be the same more or less. You might want to actually use either Salvation aura or Conviction when fighting Mephy. I always just kept it on Fanat in SC for more damage, but it's easy to get one-shotted. So either a high level Conviction to override Mephy's Conviction, or just straight up Salvation to increase your res. Possibly the same for Lillith as well. Everything else should be pretty easy to be honest. Just get whatever charms you can to help out life and res. EDIT: Mephy's Conviction is level 20, so yours needs to be 21+ to override his.

Yeah I thought about that but I'll stick with Salvation to keep my resis at max, those 20 skillpoints can be put into other useful stuff. Other than that I also swapped my Guillaumes face to a pRubied Rockstop and I'll go with Thundergods. The only thing I'm still missing is Draculs... can't imagine even trying UT without these.

Salvation would be my choice too. pRubied Rockstop is a great defensive choice. Your kill speed will go down slightly without GFace but you'll prolly be a little tankier, which is important in HC. Thundergods is of course the perfect choice. That's the nice thing about a Smiter. You can do it on a budget if you want, but you can also upgrade it a lot with many options. Dracs is pretty damn important, but honestly you can do it without Dracs. Just shop a life tap wand. I personally prefer to use both, but it's doable without Dracs.
