i watched through all prayer flicking guides and this is the first one that went in depth about the different methods and the important ticks. while most guides were super vague "just double click the prayer orb" you managed to include a lot of additional information i didnt even hope for :D thanks a lot that really helped, great explanation!

As a PvM supernoob who wasn't able to prayer flick, I've used this guide since several months ago, and I can safely say that this prayer flicking guide is amazing. If damage is calculated when a monster shoots, why do you need to wait until it hits you to eat? Shouldn't it work any time after damage is calculated? So click when/after they attack, but before you get splat is what makes sense to me. If that's true, I'd think the safest method would be to stand far enough back so that the splat is one tick before the attack. In a four tick pattern you'd have Attack - Delay - Delay - Splat. Clicking food in ticks 1-3 would have you healing after damage is calculated and before (or during, I guess that's okay?) you get hit. Would this work? If not, why?

You're correct. Like you said as long as the splat lands before they throw another attack, you can safely tick eat with a larger window of opportunity. I wasn't aware at the time of recording this

Metronomes make things like flicking so much easier ngl... still hard not to accidentally lose your rhythm sometimes though.

Hey not sure if you’ll see this but I have a question I’m hoping you can answer. For tick eating you showed first 4 tiles is tick eat on same game tick. At 5th game tile it’s eat next game tick do you know how many it is after 5?

Just to clarify... you have to flick prayer when the hit is being calculated not when the projectile hits you, but you have to tick eat when the projectile hits you not when the hit is calculated?

There are 2 scenarios, most simple projectiles such as basic mage attacks or ranged projectiles can be tick eaten anytime from when the damage is calced to when it hits you. The other and more difficult scenario is like sotetseg big ball , verzik yellow orb or jad attacks, where you have to tick eat right before it hits you. Essentially healing at the same time as damage is taken away from your health bar This second scenario is where timing matters the most. I realize I didn't explain this correctly in the video.

for standart projectiles, the general rules apply, for example: jad's mage is a standart projectile, but his range attack isn't

that's a sick video, appreciate it man! have 1quick question about 2tick flicking, mainly talking about the inferno flicking mage/blob or range/blob. he says prage mage 2 counts, range 2 counts etc, but i'm geting hit if i do that. Should my 2nd pray switch should be just before i hear metronome sound of the 2nd tick or it should be just on the tick sound? appreciate your time if you can respond.

So if you're using the metronome to count ticks, that means the metronome sound happens at the start of every tick. In that case, click on the prayer before the metronome sound. You click on the prayer before the sound of the metronome so that after that sound, your prayer is activated. Hope that helps man gl!

@@rauliuxaa he scans and hits on a 3 tick cycle Scan, x, x, hit, x, x, scan, x, x, hit, x, x, See video by "btsrs" If you do the 2 tick flicking with a random start you might take a hit during the first few flicks from the blob because you're setting up the blob but once you are in you don't take hits from blob

both work, click each prayer once would mean that prayer will drain over time. at the time stamp you've linked, I am 1tick flicking (double clicking each prayer / disabling a prayer before activating another) in order to not consume any prayer points

From what I've seen, they seem to always be just off ticked. Their attack sequences are constant with, either attacking you, or the shield from the second they spawn. I'm not 100% sure but watching zach (Reed) offtick them taught me this. If I get any more info on this I'll get back to you, otherwise thanks so much :)

This might be a dumb question, but so for the lazy flicking at the beginning, that first tick when you click the prayer, 1. Is that prayer actually protecting you that tick or just for the second tick? And 2. Does the circle around the prayer light up immediately, the tick you click it? And disappear tick two? I would assume it lights up on tick two but the way the graphic is done makes me think it doesnt

1. when you click it, it is activated at the start of the next available game tick. No, you are not protected the moment you click it, you are protected for the next tick. (this is why you click a little before the game tick starts). 2. For the circle around the prayer, the behavior of the gfx are not consistent and don't accurately represent the on/off state of the prayer if you are flicking and/or clicking the prayer a lot. Rely on your clicks and not the animation, this is general advice for many high apm actions in this game :) hope this helps!
