"if the product is lackluster, ill just cancel" is why im pausing, commenting, then leaving the video. its little micro actions like that, that make it so hard to be an artist these days. you know the artist, you know what they make, you preorder, are not blown away in a moment, cancel order, screw up artist and economy, then slowly buy product anyway

I'm not sure what that means in this context. The thing about Pre-Orders before Spoiler Season is that we have zero idea what is in the product. Imagine pre-ordering something like March of the Machine: Aftermath, before realizing how awful the product was and how little effort was put into it? The idea of a pre-order on Amazon, at least, is that you can cancel it, and there's no harm. It's not affecting a small LCS or a local shop. However, if the product ends up being insane, the price will likely skyrocket as scalpers try and buy out as many as possible, like what happened with ONE's Compleat Edition. "Knowing the artist and what they make" has nothing to do with this - I'm sure all of Duskmourn's art will be fantastic. But will the cards chosen be good? Will they be impactful in play? Will there be any incentive to get this particular bundle? It's hard to say. But none of this has anything to do with the art, rather the card design + reprint value.

I agree - they're not hurting for money. I do think it's fair to criticize, though in the same vein, I think there's been a few massive hits this year, MH3, BLB, Fallout, all fantastic products. Duskmourn looks to be on that same path. l

Artist? Even though the art of the cards themselves are made by artists, the cards are made by a company and they are made for playing and collecting, not to be an art piece. What you're saying is irrelevant as canceling the purchase is an action done against the company putting out a crap product, not an artist.

Amped for more life gain hate cards. Has the potential to be a really cool set, though your maths on the Nightmare Bundle was a bit off...it's pretty much break even dollar wise so what's in the extra pack will be the important thing to find out.

I’m really excited for this set! I started playing around the original Innistrad and was really disappointed when they went back with Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow. Definitely grabbing one of the Nightmare bundles and either the 4 commanders or a collector’s box.

I preordered a collectors booster box from my LGS. I love the 80s horror theme and I want some of those Japanese cards that's going to be in the collectors. I don't really expect to make my money back in value but I'm totally ok with that.

Twice now Amazon made my pre-release orders I bought disappear off my purchase list. When the item is popular and the price goes way up closer to the release date they let the vendor shine you on because they now can charge more. Same thing is happening with the nightmare bundle.

Hello I’m new to magic ( since March ), I hope you can answer my question. This is the set of the year I’m most excited about. I’m Forsure getting the collector booster with the precons Do you recommend also getting the nightmare bundle or should the precons and collector booster be enough ? I know it’s like almost 400 bucks haha but money atm isn’t as much of a issue so I wanna splurge but still smartly

Go with collector booster and the nightmare bundle they don't over print collector boxes anymore, and if it turns out there will be numbered cards in the collector boosters they will increase in price because they can't be reprinted. Whenever there is a 000/000 in the set know the value will spike as collector boxes get lower. You can always get more play boosters at a reasonable price later on.

@@handsanitizer1963 I buy precons to expand my card collection. It really depends on how deep your cards collection is. All the cards that are current can be opened in packs, but it's the reprints that make them worth it to me. For Blummborrow I did one collector and all 4 precons and very happy with what I got. I will do the same with Dusk Mourn and by buy playboosters ever now and then.

@@handsanitizer1963 some of the cards were great, to get the new "Saw and Half" alone was worth it, one of the best cards or at least the top 10 cards I think you can only get in the precon, getting three ETB's off a card feels sweet. Black had many bangers this set.

To be truthful they need to postpone sets at this point we cant keep up. But im also a proxy everything player so it truly dont matter because they have killed the sealed products collector booster or bust nowadays. Wizards of the cost sucks ass

I think Collector Boosters are infinitely better value from the standpoint of, if you want to spend money on sealed, it's the best potential return. Play Boosters are solid and fun for drafting and sealed, without a doubt, and I always recommend buying singles, but I understand the appeal of wanting to open some stuff too. I'd rather spend an extra $65 on a Collector Box and have a much higher potential rate of return, versus spending $140 on a play booster box to make $60 at best.

Haha I doubt it! But I will note this! Be sure to grab it via Amazon, so that if it does in some way turn out to be not worth it, you can cancel your pre-order well before it ships. It's always smart to give yourself that out, if you can! :)

As of this time, I haven’t seen the Nightmare Bundle available anywhere else at a cheaper price. Amazon has the preorder guarantee so if the price drops between now and release day, you get the lowest price. I always encourage people to shop around and find the best deals. Like the Squirrel Precon from BLB, I got it on Amazon at $45, despite it being nearly double that online elsewhere & at my locals.

I know him IRL, he's always commenting things to fuck with me, but in this case I do know sometimes the speed can be a bit much. I feel like I tend to talk fast when I'm trying to get thoughts out in a more unscripted fashion. It's definitely something to work on!
