Definitely prefer this pricing system. Obviously there's no way to know which cards make it and which ones become bulk, but most of the boxes being roughly the value of what you paid seems more correct. As always, just buy singles though.

I think so. It can’t account for everything but the rule of thumb for prerelease prices does tend to be “cut it in half.” It also supports what you’re saying about each card as you evaluate their impact on the game. Putting the verge lands at $6ish for example. Saying “these are good, not great” and then they’re $20+ each… gives mixed signals! Overall a great change and makes it much easier to take your thoughts at face value.

I’d argue a lot of horrors look goofy too. Fear of Failed Tests has some really cringe flavour text. And Fear of Immobility is just a deer with ghost heads. I think the really good looking creatures are the demons. The withered look makes them much scarier than the rest of the set.

so there is a 1% of fractured foil in the final slot, and a 1% of the textured foil double exposure so they are even rareness wise, technically the japanese ones are rarer, but also in a japanese collector box they would all be in japanese for the fractured foil ones. if I got a valgavoth, wandering rescuere or kaito in that textured foil double exposure I would be super excited.

I wish the artists who made the fear cards had more freedom. Right now the art is very hit or miss, but mostly miss. The best fear has to be Fear of Surveillance. It’s because it’s more abstract and the goofy ghost faces kinda blend with the background.

I feel like you'd grow numb to that if it was the norm since you were little. 3. The edge treatment on that fractured foil card looks like the same silver sparkly foil treatment they used to put on pogs or vending machine stickers, that sort of thing.
