Excellent video! How do you go about deciding how many copies of a card you want to keep in your deck? Also, what would be the ideal breakdown of each cost 1-6+ cards in your deck? Thanks!

Thanks for the kind comment :) 03:38 - When it comes to how many of each card in your deck, our general rule is 4 of cards that are key to your strategy. There's quite a bit of nuance to this though. Some cards might be key, but they may be uninkable or have a high ink cost, so sometimes you want to reduce those numbers so you're not stuck with them early in the game. And some cards might only be relevant against certain decks, so you don't want them as often, but can mulligan for them. 05:10 - For the ideal breakdown of 1-6+ cards, this will depend on what type of deck you're running. For instance, an aggro deck might have 50% or more of their decks as 1-2 drops because they want to flood the board early and quest fast. Again, a good rule of thumb is to have a few 1-2 drops, more 3-5 drops, and some 6+ drops. In my deck (Amber/Steel) for instance, I have nineteen 1-2 drops, thirty-seven 3-5 drops, and four 6+ drops.

Hello! Yes, all the cards released so far can be used in your deck. If a card is ever banned from official play, these will be added in an official Lorcana ban list. As of right now, there aren’t any cards banned in the game. Thanks for the comment and happy questing!

Yep, you can go above 60, although it’s usually better to stick to 60 for consistency.

What exactly is known as a key card

It’s any card that’s essential to the strategy of the deck, and that you want to increase your chances of seeing every game. For instance, if you’re playing Ruby Amethyst, cards like Be Prepared, Queen’s Castle, and Mims and Merlins are considered key cards and most of those decks will have 4 of each of those cards.

If you play aggro with emerald, an example of key card would be “Cursed Merfolk”. In amethyst, something like “Maleficent, Binding Her Time”.

Locations are an interesting one. I’d definitely recommend adding them based on your win condition. If they don’t fit that, you likely don’t need to add them. But locations can also force decisions. In my Ruby Amethyst deck, The Queen Castle wins me so many games just by forcing my opponent to make a choice between that or my characters. But it also furthers my ability to draw cards.
