This is a super helpful video and I love it (looking at doing stock footage myself), however, I have an unrelated question: at the 18:03 mark, there is some distortion of the video that I have also seen in several of my own videos since using Davinci Resolve. It doesn't appear until after I've rendered the final video. Do you know what this is and how to get rid of it? Thanks again for the great video!

When I say agencies, I mean different production companies that I know use stock in their videos often - such as CNN, NBC, FOX, CBS, PBS, BBC, and other editorial content providers. It requires you to network and create relationships and that's the biggest part to selling stock video. You can use Linkedin to find the media manager, producer, or art buyer for the company you're trying to target.

Could you elaborate on how you're swapping out nvme ssds? You say you bring tons of extra nvme ssds and I'm just wondering how you use them? Like are you cracking open your laptop and swapping nvme ssds on the fly for some reason? Or do you know of some sort of a way to read an nvme ssds externally?
@District7DrewGeraci
@District7DrewGeraci 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! For most projects, I travel with around 10-12TB worth of NVMe external SSDs (either USB 3.2 or TB3). I'm not swapping them out on the fly (since each external drive is 2TB) but I'll store my data on them until I return home and can upload them to my main server. It's very easy to make your own external NVMe SSD's and I have a video here that shows you how to do it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXbHYnelorGhoa8

This is awesome! I have a question though. How do you get releases of people at an event? Can I film public events with a lot of people without releases? Seems impossible to get releases from everyone in highly populated spaces. Do I just film without their face?
@District7DrewGeraci
@District7DrewGeraci 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Jack! If you film at an event and don't have the release, the only thing you can really do is 'editorial' based licensing if it's in a public space, if not, then you can't license it. If it's done in a private space you would need to post flyers around the entrance as people enter so they know you're filming for commercial purposes (in coordination with the event).

It all depends on what the terms are when you purchase the stock footage. Some clips are for editorial use only (non-commercial or monetized), some are only good for 1 production use, and some you can use for an infinite amount of productions. Just read the terms of use and you'll be set.

I was thinking about getting the new NVIDIA RTX A6000, do you think it will make any difference in rendering? Thank you very much
@District7DrewGeraci
@District7DrewGeraci 3 жыл бұрын
The A6000 is great for ultra high resolution footage w/ multiple tracks of video, so if that's what you're working with then I'd definitely get it. That being said, the RTX 3090 is actually a little bit more powerful than the A6000 it just has half of the VRAM at 24GB but works amazingly with 8k-12k resolution footage and is 1/4 the price. Either way, both GPUs are great for rendering with.
