Well, as one of the only 10 naval players. I can confirm that the Pe-8 is a monster in that mode. You will only need to learn to aim the bomb and make compensation for moving targets, then the FAB-5000 will do its job for you. Due to its ridiculous explosive mass, the bomb will act like an oversized depth charges and create a huge shockwave that is enough to even destroy a battleship.

It’s even worse when playing ground battles because it can wipe an entire cap point in one go.

Appreciate it - It does take me weeks to get a video like this one made with all the footage and so on. I like the editing so it's all good. The reactions are usually worth it. I agree about the B-29, the 8.0 for a prop bomber is just not working either.

@8Bit Dane I would like to point out at 1:08 that there is technically 6 variants (7 if you count the Ar-2, which is the final evolution of the base design) of the Tupolev SB bomber. The two other variants that you don't have are the -103U and the -103 MV-3. Neither of these two variants are available to research or purchase anymore, but they were in the game in its earliest patches (pre-1.29 they could be acquired; they were removed from the tree in 1.37, but still technically remain in the game if you got them previously). There's no functional difference between these and the other variants of the SB2M: the -103 MV-3 sits at BR 1.7 and the -103U sits at BR 2.3. Another minor discrepancy you didn't note between the -100 and later variants is that all later variants gain unlockable external bomb racks which let you add another pair of 250kg or 500kg bombs externally, tripling your maximum bombload over the -100, which will let you solo up to 2 bases. The drag of the external bombload does slow you down some but not significantly; you will drop the external bombs first over the internal bombload, although they do drop separately, which can help with optimizing bombloads dropped.

There used to be two more extra SB2's, the SB-2M100A, and the SB-2M100A Spanish, but they were removed just before the release of the open beta (which means that I JUST missed them 😢) Also the -103U lives on the Chinese TT.

You genuinely have the best war thunder guides, i would be struggling hard if not for you, thanks. One last question though, when bombing, does the bomb directly drop where the crosshair comes together? Or does it drop on the hud crosshair, the one that goes wild when you turn in the bomb sights?

Hi Briar, appreciate it. The bombs more or less hit, depending on your altitude and if you have maxed out the "Weapon Maintenance" skill in the crew logistical services, using the center bombing crosshairs in the bomb aiming view.

The first SB is kinda decent has CAS. The 500kg bomb is a mini-nuke in low tiers, and can kill light tanks even if the bomb falls 10 meters away from them. One game i managed to get 4 kills using it, 2 per bomb 😂

The Tu-4 is in my opinion just a B-29 on br 8.0 with 23mm Machinguns. So i take it as a B-29 Tutorial.

I search but don't find anything over when 2 planes head-on each other, I usually miss my shots but the other plane anquilates me, there's a trick or something? I usually aim a little up and when in 500m aim for the planne, but usully never hits, I ask you cause you know very much about planes, thank you in advance!

Hi Black, it's mostly due to what kind of guns your plane has, the 12.7mm being the easiest to aim and hit with, they are hard hitting and if you have 4 or 6 of them its a lot of projectiles you throw at someone. Ill see what I can come up with, just can't say anything about when :)

What bomber would you recommend now for 5 rank ussr grind? Il-28/tu-4 or tu-14t?

The Tu-4 definitely has the largest bombload, but the plane itself is huge and can only be used as a high altitude bomber. At br 8.0 it struggles in the jet age and it's easy for enemies to get to your altitude and bring your down. A lot can go wrong in that scenario and I think its the worst candidate survival. The plus side is huge bombload. I like the playstyle of the Tu-4 but it's risky and often not worth it. At br 8.0 the Tu-4 is also a one trip aircraft, you will rarely be able to bomb, return to the airfield, rearm and take off again within the time limit of a match. All the other bombers are jets, so much faster with better survivability and with offensive weapons, but with the bombload as sacrifice. The Il-28sh is the most flexible in that regard as it can also carry rockets for ground attacks in both air and ground RB. It all comes down to your personal preference and playstyle, but if you mean purely as a means to grind, I would pick one of the jets.

If you disregard bombers like the Pe-2s and Tu-2s and their offensive guns, I would suggest either the sturdy Pe-8 and the premium Be-6. The turrets on those two bombers are mostly high calibers and very effective.
