Guiding Light (1985) - Closing Theme

It’s been a while since I have published a clean closing theme of a show before. But here, for the first time in years, is a recreated and clean version of the 1985-86 closing theme of Guiding Light.
COMMENTING NOTE:
I did a first one before, but unfortunately it wasn’t as clean as this one. The first 46 seconds sound a little bit on the good side and the rest sounds better. And of course, there wasn’t a cleaner studio version of this theme nor a version without the announcer speaking over the theme, so finding clean parts of the theme and putting them all together was the only thing I could do.

It's AWESOME! Thanks this is a blast from the past. RIP the golden age (or any age back then) of daytime soap operas. Especially all of the Procter & Gamble ones. Shame those days are gone but they can live on a bit via You Tube!!

I watched an episode Edwyn posted the other day. Jerry VerDorn featured prominently on it. What a terrific and fundamental actor. Even the dialogue from a basic episode of GL would blow today's episodes of soaps out of the park.

This version of the theme song “My Guiding Light” debuted on a November 1985 episode and was retired on an October 1986 episode. I used the graphics from 1986 through 1990 for this publication.

Sometimes this version of theme song alternated with the original 1983 version of the “My Guiding Light” theme tune and other specialized variants of the “My Guiding Light” theme song between November 1985 thru October 1986, with the arrival of the late 1986-mid/late ‘89 dance-synth pop version of the “My Guiding Light” theme song and the visual graphics seen here.

@@megamanj2004X Executive Producer Gail Kobe had different versions to reflect that day's episode. One was more sad and another was upbeat and happy. There were 4 versions total.

@@keithalvarez6229 The original 1983 version, the 1985-86 updated version, the melancholy version and the jazzy upbeat version. The original 1983 version of My Guiding Light made sporadic appearances in some closing credits until Joe Willmore took over as EP in the Summer of 1986. Once he took over, the 1985-86 GL theme became both the opening and closing theme altogether I guess. Until the October 1986-September 1989 Dance Synth Pop theme took over.

This is the original version of the theme. It debuted in 1985 and was used until the next year. The 1989-91 version of this theme was different even though it’s the same in composition. Sorry if that confuses you.

indeed, I'd say that the 1989-1990 version was a tad faster tempo, and a bit more polished sounding, less "twang" in the instrumentation as heard in this one.
