Wow! I didn't realize that Alan learned from Mindy that Bradley told Phillip the truth about his parentage. I was already back in school before the big blow up. I knew Beth and Phillip expressed their real emotions for each other in the stable but I didn't realize Mindy was eavesdropping. Thanks for posting. :)

My theory is The Reardons were phased out after 1984 because of different writing regimes and producers came in. Not to mention around this time period Lisa Brown and Maeve Kinkead became pregnant in real life and a lot of ideas were shelved. They struck comedy gold when they decided to put the Chamberlin family under one roof and Nola and Vanessa had to co exist but when they both became pregnant in a matter of months apart they had to come up with a different plan (Billy and Vanessa's quickie wedding at Alexandra's homecoming.) I think the Barbados story was supposed to be a Reardon tale with Tony,Annabelle,Quint,Nola and Jim and Hillary Bauer but they had to change course due to Lisa's pregnancy. Nola's love of a good mystery and Quint's background as an archaeologist would have put them right in the middle of it. Not to mention the Chamberlin family connected to the Spauldings . Instead what we got was Nola and Quint dealing with bratty Jonathan Brooks and Fletcher and Claire became involved instead of them. I also think that Jay Hammer was supposed to be a new love interest for Marsha Clarke's Hillary that never came due to her departure as well. I believe that Fletch was never supposed to be a long term character but his chemistry with Hillary changed that.

@@wvfirecracker1976 Lisa Brown went on maternity leave around the time Tony had his brain surgery.Her leaving with Stacy to a hospital to get help for help with Stacys hearing loss. She came back in time for Tony and Annabelles wedding. So her pregnancy was way before the Barbados story. Not sure about Maeves pregnancy. I know her first one was in the early 80s.
