I bought this guitar a couple months ago. Just one of the best acoustics i've played period. Not overly bright, but not too much bottom end. I compared it to a taylor 114ce and preferred the guild

I agree completely. I actually ended up keeping one as I like them so much. I think the arched maple back really gives an extra dimension of sound and sustain. Glad you like yours and thanks for watching.

Just saw this at a Guitar Center this weekend, 1 year after you made the video. It blew away all the other guitars that were not locked up. At this price this model sounded amazing.

In 2023 I happened to spot one of these, brand new at GC, discounted to an unadvertised price of $249. After 10 minutes of playing it I knew it was a steal. Bought it and now I like to play it tuned very low, almost like a baritone guitar, and it handles that range very well. Very comfortable, and the playability is outstanding. Looks nicest in the charcoal burst color.

I stumbled upon this guitar while thrifting. Got the mahogany in almost perfect condition for only $69. It came with a soft case, stand, and strap. Definitely one of the luckiest days of my life. Honestly I had only been playing guitar for a few months and almost disregarded it since I thought it was a “fake” guitar.

I was played classic guitar for 5 years and decided to change to acoustic... My classic guitar was a relatively cheap one (Yamaha C-40)...About 8 months ago I bought this guitar and still no regrets... I've got nothing but good things to say about these guitars - great wood selection, good parts and electronics - and I like the arched back for tone. I think they are well priced too.

Such a shame that big name manufacturers in the US cannot turn out low to mid range instruments in their own country and give people jobs. Peavey springs to mind and what the stepson did when he took over. Godin do it and still turn a profit. The Seagull range like say the S6 is the proof.

which one would you prefer for beginner - taylor academy 12 or this one? this is for smaller adult (5 feet). I am more worried about comfort of playing because of my small size. academy is $100 more than this right now.

I haven't seen a Taylor Academy acoustic - so I would say the Guild. I recently set up and sold a Taylor Academy classical and I wasn't that impressed for the price. If you buy a Taylor I would splash out for the 114 - much better guitar.

Guild should NEVER have had a Chinese made guitar in their lineup. American all the way. Guild makes great guitars but why ruin your reputation making them in China? I hate this make money from cheap guitars . I'm a purist!
@FlowforthInstruments4 жыл бұрын
You're not a purist - you're outdated. I worked for a US guitar manufacturer who advertised 'made in the US' guitars and charged over $1000 for them. All the woods were sourced overseas, the parts were from China, they were basically assembled in China - with the last bolt screwing the neck and body together done in the US. There are lots of top makers and manufacturers in China now - I know many luthiers who have gone over there to study lutherie with Chinese makers. A good Chinese made Eastman or Guild is better than a US made Airline guitar made with no truss rod with slab cut wood. Education is key - keep it updated mate.

@@moonbeam5188 if you use any kind of cellphone or anything electronic then you are using a made in China product. Democrats did not send jobs to other countries. In fact, companies were able ship jobs outside because of 'small government' idea that Republicans like. If building a product in usa was profitable then companies would build it in usa. You should ask why is it cheaper to make product in such a far away country. You should ask Why is it profitable even after the shipping and logistics involved. You should ask if president trump was able to bring any of those manufacturing jobs back. Lastly, look around and think are people around me as hardworking as people around the world. Some education about this is not a bad idea.
