Exactly the series I needed for any class but warrior lol. You've explained here perfectly what I've understood Warrior to be as my main class but every time I switch to new class I look for an explanation like this for whatever said class may be that I'm switching to. I generally can never find good explanations of what the intentions have a class are and general philosophies to the design. So love the series idea definitely please make it all the way through cuz I have several classes that I've still yet to fully grasp and didn't want to spend hundreds of hours getting a feel for. This deep dive exactly what each class needs out there on the internet instead have the multitude of build and meta discussions on classes that mean little to nothing and are just 15 minutes of spouting the most meta trait and ability names at you.

Love this series. This one is my favorite episode because Warrior is my favorite. One thing i have to correct you on, or remind you i should say, is that you forgot to mention that hammer skill 5 refreshes skill 2. So you can start with skill 2, then do 5 and do 2 again immediately. It's a powerful combo. I think it explains it in skill 5 tooltip. And because skill 2 does more damage when the target is cc-d, you can cc the target first with a utility skill, then do skill 2, then cc again with skill 5 which refreshes skill 2, so you do that again and it does that extra damage because you just cc-d the target with skill 5. And combine all that with the vast choice of cc traits that warrior has and you're unstoppable.

I think I've posted this before, but my dream Warrior specialization is a Weapons Master that let's you swap between main and off-hand. That would give the class an amazing versatility, specially because the Burst skill is locked to the main hand. For example: you could run Axe/Mace and for CC phases you just swap hands and get access to the Mace Burst skill. And you still have your other weapon set which can also trade hands! Also, as a cool consequence, Warriors could dual wield shields! Hell yeah!

For future videos, it may be more helpful to go over interesting or impactful traits, rather than focusing on the minors and the grandmasters. Learning about Building Momentum is nice, but learning about Peak Performance, Brave Stride, or Forceful Greatsword would probably have been better, especially when we've seen the Peak Performance tooltips the whole time without any explanation. For grandmaster traits, I know that you strongly feel that they should be a big deal, but not all are. I suppose it might be neat if grandmaster consistently had special value, but it isn't the tier of the trait that makes the choice interesting or the trait build-defining, and it's a complaint I've never heard raised except by yourself or in comments on videos in which it's been raised. Anyway, thank you for this! I'm looking forward to the others

This all just reminds me of your playthrough where you didn't use mounts and mostly walked everywhere to fully immerse yourself in the old world of GW2, the reason it reminds me of it though is because you inspired me to do the same thing with a Norn Warrior. Favorite warrior build right now uses dual axes with the Arms Discipline and Tactics trait lines. Through arms and discipline you get the dual wielding and axe bonuses and Tactics gives you extra survivability as well as group benefits through the shouts. Then I use "For Great Justice" and "Shake it off" as two of my secondary skills. Add in strength runes and the elite signet, and I have no trouble keeping full might on myself and quite a bit on others as well.

Soooo,... warrior was my first character 9 years ago. I got with it in the game, got bored and didn't touch it for a few years unless I really had to. When all we needed was a damn warrior and we just couldn't find one. A few years back I actually had another look on it's mechanics and saw some of the potential, but I never got took the time to get back to it. Thank you for the great video which finally motivated me to have some fun with it again. :)

About two months ago I started playing again after a year off, found out a few irl friends started playing again too we all wanted to get into fractals and raids. No one had a lvl 80 warrior but me so I picked it up (never really played it) geared it from the ground up and ended up loving the feel of banner berserker.

Indeed, after the GS being the goto for EVERY DAMN CLASS for years(seems to have changed with recent patches luckily) i use anything BUT GS these days apart from on my Guardian.

I never actually got into the warrior that much as i just don't like GS at all and it's a huge part of how the class is played. Though i did have a lot of fun memeing around with hammer in wvw (and to an extent pvp in the good old hambow times) and nowe in PoF also with various combinations of axes, daggers and offhand maces.

A small nitpick: The normal weapon swap cooldown on most classes is 10 seconds. It normally says 9 right at the start because the whole number display for cooldowns always rounds down and it's almost instantly 9.99 seconds which rounds down to 9 on the display.

I usually play supports and magical classes and this year I decided to try the melee playstyle as warriors and tanks. Stopped with gw2 a while ago and seeing this video in this new phase of mine this class seems so interesting, especially the full counter mechanic.

I actually have 4 Warriors at present, 2 Berzerkers, 1 Spellbreaker and and a Core one that I created after the announcement of EOD, thinking I would just play her as Core until the new Elite came out. Thing is I did not intend to do 2 Berzerkers, I wanted one of each of everything but I just originally could not find a way to play Core that would match or be on par with Berzerker. This video has given me some potential new ideas. For instance I have never used a sword in the off hand, nor seen that stab and retrieve skill before, that seems really really cool. Currently my temporary Core waiting for EOD is using Hammer and swaps to dual maces when I come upon a break bar, but maybe I will try a sword in the offhand now. ;)

As someone who's has a YT channel too - I wonder if a tiny point of feedback may help retention? I noticed the video opens with a flashback of Guild Wars 2 announcement trailers (which I love) I just wonder if this looks 'outdated' or less appealing for newcomers to GW2? I'd say defo keep them in the video but maybe open the video with something from these days, like yourself showing off the skills etc? :) just to keep retention early on in the vid and avoid someone clicking away as they (mistakenly) think it's an old vid rather than a super up-to-date and relevant one! :) Anyways feel free to ignore that just a thought! The Guardian is way more magically inclined than the paragon was, being just as much Monk as Paragon, if not more. Imo, Warrior already pretty much IS the paragon with their skill color scheme, group support and shouts (that they can buff a lot with traits), the only thing they are lacking is spearthrowing.

I've seen a lot of GW2 creators ramping up a bit of highly tutorial-esque content, are we preparing for a large wave of new players with the expansion coming or are we just trying to make the game more approachable in general? he forgot to mention it, but axe 3 deals bonus damage at below 50 and 25 percent, it can easily hit for 2k in pvp on someone escaping at low hp, really strong

I thought the first parts of the videos, going over the general mechanics of the profession, then the weapon skills, was really good. The specialization talk at the end was a bit less interesting. Maybe it would be cool for the other professions to highlight some of the synergies between the specializations, weapons and utilities, rather than just reading out the GMs? Cool video nonetheless, made me go mess around on a rifle warrior for a bit.

Actually "Rune of the Warrior" and "Fast Hands" do stack. That's why you got a 4 seconds ICD on "Brawler's Recovery", "Versatile Rage" and "Versatile Power". Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense at all to have 4 seconds of CD. Loved the shorts in between ^^

Other classes have internal CDs of 9secs on weapon swap traits. I think it's just to make sure that the traits are off CD the second weopon swap becomes available so they reliably proc without any timing or order shenanigans.

Thats not necessary to be coded like that. Sigills with weapon swap effects do proc reliably and they do have nine seconds CD aswell.

I am looking for a weapon build that is good in all PVE content. Preferably one that does not require switching often. I perfer to play a "static" build since weapon switching may get too complex for me. Any suggestions ?
