Being a bit of a nerd for esoteric and occult weirdness, I can maybe help with Ipos a bit (my favorite legendary btw!) Ipos is one of the 72 demons mentioned in _The Lesser Key of Solomon,_ a Renaissance-era occult manual. The chapter it's found in is named _Ars Goetia_ which is the name of the precursor! The "Mark of the Unnamed" refers to Ipos' summoning sigil, which is illustrated in _The Lesser Key,_ and "The True Name" references the belief that knowing a demon's name grants the power to command it. As for Ipos, he's said to be a prince over hoardes of lesser demons, one who hoardes secrets and can reveal hidden and forbidden knowledge. He's one of the more amiable demons in _The Lesser Key,_ he can be called at any time of night, but only in quiet places "where Men gather not." I'm other words, Ipos has social anxiety. Given the "real" Ipos' affinity for secrets and forbidden knowledge, I'm disappointed they didn't include any references to Abaddon or Kormir's Library. I like to imagine Ipos as a demon in the service of Abaddon; a demon sent out to gather knowledge to hoard in the fallen god's library; cast low after Kormir rose; and, as GW2 demons do, seeking to bargain with a mortal: knowledge for knowledge, and power for power, all the while biding his time until he can reclaim his dead master's library. I like to think it was Ipos that led all those Ataxes and Shades into Kormir's Library after she left. :)

I agree with the grumpy person about the astralaria lore. The collection through crafting it goes much more to jotun and norn lore, about runestones.. And yes I suppose the astralarium makes sense but back when that collection came out, PoF didn't exist and we didn't get to go to Istan.. But now they suddenly tie this weapon to sunspear lore?? When it used to be about jotun lore? It's not that it's not interesting to me it's just that the contradiction in what anet wants with this weapon frustrates me.. It makes me feel like they didn't even think twice about whether the collections for the precursors match enough with the final lore of the legendary itself.

First thing first, such a great video, thanks a lot! Second... I appreciate lore tidbits, but they wouldn't sway me one way or another. I'm a super casual veteran player, and all my 4 legendaries (3 weapons, 1 armor set) were crafted in leisure purely because of looks. I didn't care knowing about lore of my first legendary until I actually saw it here haha. It's tied up amazingly with my personal experience with GW2. I started playing GW2 in 2013 because I wanted to play necromancer (not many MMORPGs, heck, even regular RPGs have this profession). I also love everything space-themed, so going for Twilight was a given once I was familiar with the game and had the right mindset for crafting it (i.e. not grinding for hours anything on purpose, taking my time and generally not spending gold/mats on unneeded stuff). It was before HoT times, and I was kinda bummed that my main wouldn't be able to wield it, but decided to go for it anyway. Imagine my levels of joy when they announced the elite specs! And now, Grenth being my favorite of the Six, I learn that Twilight has a bit more connection to necromancers too! This is so good, I am very pleased :D

For those who lack knowledge of HOPE: In first 3 collections, you research Hylek alechmy and Asuran technology and build the base of the weapon. Last collection is about crafting Alchemical Catalyst tube (the blue tubing of the gun, culmination of Hylek alchemy research), Transcendent Energy tube (red tubing of the gun, culmination of Asuran research) and Catalytic converter. Lore on the A Catalyst and T Energy says they violently explode, then mixed (Which probably powers the gun and why you should not drop it).

Y'know, it always struck me oddly that Aurora and Coalescence's icons match one of the combined forms for the PvE trinkets but Vision is... something else. Was that a hint towards a fourth trinket all this time? Why would they use such dramatically colourful art for Vision and not have it implemented in-game like the other two? Though it's also weird how Aurora's icon is that of when you have two trinkets equipped, it was the first one we had and for quite a long period of time! You could argue it's supposed to be the single trinket form with the four yellow moon-like orbs but the radiating purple energy from the orbs on the icon is far closer to the second form to me. For Exordium's description, it sounds almost like an alien species to me. A good analogue in other media might be Deoxys from Pokemon. An unknown alien being that can change its form to match any situation it is dealing with. And I know this is not really a pressing story that even I care to know all of the details about but I found Kudzu's entry something of note because this sylvari was sacrificing her life to protect the Pale Tree! From who or from what? Was it something directly attacking the Pale Tree or is that just fluff about Lonicera dying in the name of the Pale Tree? It's also interesting that they are a Secondborn, meaning it's very recent and likely not directly tied to when the Sylvari first interacted with what would be a new type of living being/race to them.

Razah is a clean slate in GW1 because it is just learning about everything including emotions, right, wrong, ideas, and etc. In GW2, Razah personality and appearance may end up being far different than its GW1 self because as mentioned in Exordium lore (being a lesser being of what Razah is), he can be anything or nothing based on what it is interested in being

On the Lyssa stuff - who is the Mist stranger that lead us to the Marionette again? we know lyssa likes to disguise herself, could it be her?
@lucasfarinhabosio63063 жыл бұрын
Maybe the one from the Vision lore is Kormir? She probably knows the other gods enough to guess that they would be pissed at us killing Balthazar and that Lyssa was close to him.

I have an idea about the datamined information about the new trinket, if it's an old story remember the norn fighting tournament from the original guild wars? Gwen was a mesmer and one of the contestants. Just an idea...

I believe that Kormir is quoted in the Vision flavour text.

I think I did some research on IPOS and I think some of the art matches a real-life Grimoire. It's actually a reference to real life occult stuff. Whether you believe in it is up to you.

all those others flew over my - except @37:39. WAIT, you mean the other gods don't know "we" ganked Balthazaar? Uh-Oh!

I think the first armor you read as pvp is actually the light wvw armor, and the last wvw armor you read is the heavy pvp armor.

Personally, i wish i could get legendary armor, other then raids. I mean, since i don't do raids, i kinda feel left out tbh. I know i could just do it, but its pretty high order for me. I wish i could easily play around stats too.

You can get it through pvp and wvw as well.

Agreed, pvp is gated more as well than it should be due to tickets.

Vision has to be quoting Kormir. As the last of the human gods to leave and the goddess of truth and knowledge, she is inevitably going to learn of Balthazar's faqte, and fits nicely with their concern with the other gods.

Well krait are actually the overlords of the universe. Elder dragons are their babies, and the krait we fight close to the surface are lesser krait who have been banished because they didn't pay their income tax. Also, I know the screenshot they shared is probably Shing Jea like everyone says, but what if it is the Dominion of winds that's about to open its gates to us? Would be so exciting ^^

Howler idea : What if the story of the Great Wolf and the Serpent have something to do with Braham having the Spirits a part of him now? Long term thing but perhaps alluded too no matter Sunrise/Twilight: I think this might also be one of the first major mentions of the moon? Which moon and how does this play out / impact if the moon has an impact on a god if Dwayna (his mother) might be revered as the sun herself? Is his father (a subject never spoken of / Dhuum?) is the moon? Verdarach: Grenth mentioned again - - Were there other gods in the legendries that had multiple mentions? Xiuquatl : Focusing on the 'hope' piece with this idea - could this be the same Serpent that Wolf denied?
@devinbelver71243 жыл бұрын
Dwayna had 2 mentions. Pharus and sunrise. And Balthazar had 2 with flames of war and vision. I just think the Devs were lazy and gave dark legendries to grenth.
@aautumn7333 жыл бұрын
Grenth's father is Malchor actually. You can check the wiki yourself. It's been a known fact for a very long time among vet GW2 players.

Maybe a bit out there, but when you read the Frenzy lore, my mind immediately jumped to the World of Warcraft illustrated cinematics "Warbringers" - specifically Azshara's one [kzbin.info/www/bejne/np_HqoevaNqckK8]. She's Queen of the Naga, and is affiliated with the deeps and the sea. "Magnificent" is something she's kinda known for, especially in that cinematic. She says it at 4:00 and 6:54. So, my thinking is, maybe this is a reference to that :D

The legendary bolt was in the game from day one so it could be that the dragon yet to come simply is Aurene.

This update made me think of new legendaries I want to make! I'm not sure which one I want to make because I'm not sure if I want to wait for the 3rd generation or not. Going to make the amulet though! (Kraitkin cause they might not add more underwater ones?)

Howlers lore and the stuff about the spirits of the wild makes me think they could tie in the Cantha with similarities to our real world Chinese Zodiac.

Could you please, for the love of god, put all your comments into one comment? It's really annoying to see you post 4-5 comments under each video, most of them only containing just one sentence ... for real now! You're not just doing this on WPs Videos but also on other peoples videos. ANNOYING!
@_Banjo_3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for letting me know. There is nothing inherently wrong with multiple comments but i guess it does seem worse at the early stages of a video where few people have commented. I do see multiple people do this on other videos too, though i guess im the most obvious offender. I guess it also depends on the format of the video, some of these are verrrry long and span multiple topics. Sometimes its more appropriate to me to have separate subjects as different comments. (granted a lot of mine are just random quips that may or may not be funny, or bits of trivia). Some people have engaged in discussion points in the comments or outside in other platforms off the back. Some have actually said the opposite to you and enjoy my insight. As for other youtubers, not sure who youre thinking of but possibly inks (who actually mentions in his reaction videos he does the same as me / said "spam away" to me directly when i noticed). Maybe Xand? Im offering my perspective as a 'veteran' player to the new player comments. I know theres now an irony behind my response... but ill try to hold back in future

Ah youre the person on Xandrii's video who said i was making baseless claims about the Dreamyabaddon video (which i wasn't).... Glad you're not holding a grudge. You could have just asked instead of your rude comment
