Rotating bonus for open world PvE stuff would be huge. Even just giving more things a flat ‘weekly bonus’ would be excellent tbh

Hell could broaden it to regions instead of specific bosses and it would still be huge extra rewards this week for Kryta this week, or Maguuma or Crystal Desert or whatever.

The final things in Season 1 were some of the most unique content this game has ever received. Tower of Nightmares was a weird open world dungeon sort of idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle the finale which had some crazy ideas.

I really enjoyed this. I was doing it solo to complete the mission and thought to myself how difficult this really was. I was thankful to find 2 players that invite me to a party. We ran past a lot of the veterans/elites, but we able to complete the side tasks and main mission. Very challenging, but a TON of fun. It can be a little intimidating, but you’ll get through it.
@Ashendal2 жыл бұрын
The biggest mistake ANet made was not designing LWS1 to be permanent from the very beginning. They thought the "temporary" plan would work, but in reality they ran into the same problem that every studio that tries it runs into in that it sounds great but it's unsustainable. Thankfully they're fixing that now, but it never should have made it past the drawing board in the state that it went live.

Great video! You deserve the 10k subs, and I look forward to watching more of your GW2 content in the future. GW2 is a fantastic game, right? So nice to see more people playing it now, and appreciating everything it has to offer. For me, it's the best game per dollar of any game available right now, and people who don't play it (also some who do play, but haven't figured it out yet), don't know just how much content there is available within GW2. That plus the extreme customization available for each of your characters play style abilities, gives the hard core gamer the creativity to try out different traits with different weapon skills. Build craft is very complex and can be rewarding for those who like crunching the numbers to see just how far they can push the envelope of what their character can accomplish. I was playing GW2 during the first release of Living World Season 1 and remember what a different experience it was from any other game ever created. It was great and very immersive, but for people who could not play as much as they would like, it felt a little bad because if you wanted to complete all, or most of the achievements for season 1, you had to play before the next patch came out, or you missed out. It was a bold attempt at a new way of playing, and it was fun for most, frustrating for some, but most importantly, I'm glad that they decided to figure out a way to bring it back as a permanent replayable part of the game. It's so much better to be able to play season 1, instead of just watching a short video about the events that happened and being thrown into season 2, not knowing and appreciating who the NPC characters are, and how you met them. Again, great video, and I look forward to seeing more in the near future. Glad you are enjoying this game and want to continue creating content about it.

Low rewards have been an issue for all the EOD maps too.
@traveling.down.the.road562 жыл бұрын
GW2 rewards have been a hot topic for a long time. My take is that the game itself is the reward, and if you are coming from another "vertical progression" game looking for the carrot that is going to motivate you to keep playing GW2, you're going to be disappointed. Sure, there are tons of achievements and legendary items that you can grind for and set as goals for yourself and your account, but for me, just playing GW2 with others is reward enough, and the actual rewards I get from killing mobs and bosses in the game are just "gravy". One thing I wish Anet would fix though, is the inequity of rewards for some events, compared to others in the game. I think that difficulty and time required to complete any part of the game should influence the amount of rewards you get. Higher difficulty and more time required to complete, should equal higher rewards.
@ianashmore99102 жыл бұрын
@@traveling.down.the.road56 Disagree nearly entirely. Rewards for certain maps are disproportionate. That's why people only farm 2 or 3 maps. If more maps had better rewards, people would have more variety in their game play.
@traveling.down.the.road562 жыл бұрын
@@ianashmore9910 you playing only content that you think has sufficient rewards is your choice. I really would like this used as a template for "Fissure of Woe" for a hopeful LW6. I would like it to scale from solo to 50 players (Difficulty and Rewards) Call them "Vanquishes" Get rewards when you finish all events and kill all mobs :) My biggest issue with Gw2 is they don't have scalable instances that you can solo but you can also bring 30 people from your guild to do it. (Or how many friends you've convinced to play)
@traveling.down.the.road562 жыл бұрын
Actually, lots of events in GW2 are scalable, but the scaling is hard to gauge, because of the huge difference between noob players DPS and ability to dodge and avoid damage, and the elite players, who can do over ten times the DPS, and most can easily avoid most enemy attacks. I'm not kidding, if you use any of the DPS measuring apps, like ARCDPS, to measure the DPS outpput of a new level 80 player, you will see that many of them are doing around 2,000 to 5,000 DPS (mostly closer to the 2k number), and it is easy for the elite players to do 20k+ DPS. Just watch some of the elite player videos of them solo'ing dungeons or fractals, or Open World champions or legendary enemies. So, it's hard for the Dev's to know exactly where the best balance point is for scaling their events and bosses, when the player performance is so different. There's probably a list somewhere on the wiki, or elsewhere that shows you which events and boss fights are scalable, if you really want to know.

S1 was pretty rough back in the day... now with more modern builds they are challenging but not TOO bad, however 9 years ago you *really* didn't want to bump into S1 mobs like Aetherblades or molten alliance, etc.. out in world if you could avoid them. in S1 getting isolated in the tower of nightmares was pretty much a death sentence due to their damage output... now, well... it's not so bad to me, but admittedly i've been playing for a decade and have solid builds / gear. anywho, just remember this level of difficulty because you'll be seeing it again real soon cranked up by about +5 (Heart of Thorns)

This is why GW2 isn't for everyone. You sound like the type of person that enjoys WoW's style of constant gear treadmill so you always have something to do and always have a set path for you instead of needing to figure out what you want to do yourself. That's not bad, that just shows why plenty of people try GW2, "finish it", and then become lost and leave for other games. Realistically the "end game" of GW2 is similar to what it was in the original. Make friends and do content with those friends. Tinker and make your own builds instead of just copying what the "meta" is. Find looks you want to go for and make those. It's more "you do what you enjoy" and less "face grind gear and repeat that every few months."
@ohwhatworld58512 жыл бұрын
@@Ashendal But there has to be a 'reason' for doing something. The reason usually comes in the form of a decent reward for your efforts. This game does a poor job of providing these rewards.

@@ohwhatworld5851 There is a "reason" for doing things in the game. I even mentioned them. Playing with friends and having fun doing so. Experimenting with builds to become better. Things like that. Things that don't have a dollar sign blatantly attached to them. This is exactly what I meant when I said that not everyone will stay with GW2. You need the gear treadmill and to be showered in rewards to feel like what you're doing has merit. You can't just play the game to play the game, and as such GW2 probably isn't for you. A game with a gear treadmill or an ARPG that showers you with loot constantly most likely is.

Guild Wars 2 really needs a new TYPE of reward, I am not sure what it could be, the OBVIOUS would be in game mount skins but that isn't happening. But gold and things to sell for gold can only be stretched out over so much content before some of it just feels pointless. Infusions are nice but I think something genuinely new would be fun. What that could be? Idk. IF there was a housing system than things like decor and furniture would be perfect to scatter across the game Maybe some kind of trading card thing? Like I said I am not sure what it could be but some new thing to go towards besides what has already been in the game forever would definitely spice up the content.

I like the tower's design that was cool but I'm skipping it and going on ahead too much work to try get a group to do this right now. I want a blink dog and griffon way more as it will help me 100% stuff faster and in cooler ways.

ToN is hot fucking garbage for new players to be forced into with a bunch of randoms for the story. No one wants to actually make a group, no one will explain anything. So people who’ve done the tower just run by everything and know where to go and leave the poor noobs stranded surrounded by enemies they can’t deal with, they’re not full ascended, most likely not even full exotic. Anet should have put a solo instanced version for the story. Doesn’t help that ToN is also the first real place in the game where boons like stab are really important and that is something again that new players have never been introduced to, so not only are they left behind, have no clue wtf is going on, they also get to do their best pinball impression through most of the instance.
