Guild Wars 2 - Troublesome Skyscales - Skyscale Lost, Reflexes, Stealth

For Harathi Hinterlands you don't need to do what you did.. you can just port to Arca waypoint and you can see the skyscale on the ledge nearby.. get as close as you can on your springer.. and when you are at full height jump towards the skyscale and hit your glider. You can land at it and done.

Same with Caledon Forest. You can just get on a nearby mountain and glide from there straight to the skyscale, and in Frostgorge you can glide from the ship

Metrica can be done from anywhere on the map apparently as I did it, without having to go into the puzzle portal :)

For Metrica Province, there is a way to SKIP the Jumping Puzzle, but still reach the Lost Skyscale. Go to Desider Atum, and to the East of the upper level, there is a small outcropping you can jump onto. Use a lvl 3 Springer to jump higher up onto a small ledge. Go to the edge of this ledge and jump straight up to jump past a giant leaf. Land on that leaf, then jump onto the tip of a smaller leaf just above that. From that smaller leaf, you can jump and glide to a plateform against the side of the mountain. Walk against the rock wall until you come to the portal that is the exit for the Jumping Puzzle. You can enter this portal and retrieve the chest and the Lost Skyscale without going through the actual Jumping Puzzle.

@@thomasmayfield1642 If you look on the world map of Desider Atum, the rock ledges you are looking for are on the NE (Upper right) side of the structure. The Giant Leaves are at the top of the rock formation that you can get to but jumping from the rock ledges. The Portal is after you walk along the rock wall, it is the exit or backdoor to the jp, but it leads right to the chest.

3:36 Around the Arca waypoint, there is a point where you can mount a springer. If you jump and glided, you can reach the skyscale very easily with out puzzle.

2:47 you can cheese this one by going to the exit of the jumping puzzle move just far enough away that you can get on a mount, use the springer, jump up and then use the wings thing you got from Aurene and just glide to that sky scale.

You can use the extra pungent skyscale treats basically right after you go into the cave, you don’t have to go all the way to the portal :) Same with the world bosses and other puzzles, as soon as you are in the general vicinity you can use them. Edit: I’m pretty sure you just have to be on the same map, I was able to use it at the waypoint for almost every one. Plus if the skyscale is not close enough it won’t consume the treat. So spam that puppy if you are trying to speed run through

@@geminix5845 Amen! I discovered I could just teleport onto any map with a skyscale jumping puzzle and activate the treat on the spot. No need to travel to get near the puzzle. The cost of the treats on the Trading Post was well-worth not having to engage in the jumping puzzles. What a relief!

Pro tip guys! If you are running a harbinger elite spec, you can easily progress through jumping puzzles like the 1st mentioned here, by utilizing the 4th ability of your shroud "Voracious Arc". You will land exactly at where your mouse is pointing. Trust me, it works like a charm. Again, excellent work mate!!

For the WALL BUG 2:30 Caledon Forest, go to the area further east where the Skyscale sits, back away from cliff face, get on your springer to JUMP and use BOND OF FAITH to dismount and then Glide to where the Skyscale sits! Easy and done This can be used on the next also 3:32 Harathi Hinterlands, at the ARCA Waypoint Turn to the Left and along the first terrain drop, still on the level with the Waypoint Turn to face the Aetherblade Cache and use the same tactic as in the Caledon Forest.

For the one in cursed shore, you can use your skimmer or swim and then use your springer to jump up that huge "coral" looking wall and them simply glide when you reach the "no mount jumping puzzle zone"

For Harathi Hinterlands you don't actually need to do the jumping puzzle if you have the springer and gliding. just get as close as you can to the ledge where the skyscale is and get on your springer and jump forward as high as possible, it will dismount you, and glide onto the ledge.

You can bypass the metrics province jp, by just jumping from the crafting village. Fly around to your right and walk along the rock ,then jump down to the exit and walk in.

I used the Pungent Treats on all the JP's lmao, I can just earn them back from doing daily fracs. So worth it considering how long it already takes to complete the Skyscale!

For jumping puzzles, there is a tip: download tactical overlay (TacO for short). It displayed on your game the exactly path you should take, when to jump, when to switch mount etc... PRETTY useful!

for the world boses if you do not want to wait around, you can use the extra punget treat and it will come to you.

Now days most of the ones that are near an Edge near the open areas. You can bypass the puzzles outright on those. Like the Highlands one. You can using your Spinger mount to jump then use Bond of faith mixed with a Glider to get it. With the Dragons Expansion you can also use with your glider a robot that lets you get even more uplift making some of these a lot more easy to get. The Shattered Ice Floe if you have a Griffon mount you can fly from the Frostwalk Tundra Mountain all the way to the skyscale.

Salud, to all the people that solve these puzzles without guides - and a thank you to those that make these videos. =) I will be making 3-4 of those treats to bypass the puzzles, I think, that look a little too annoying for my nibble tastes. Ok. i had an internal timer in my head, once that was exhausted, I just bought the mats to make the food for the last five =)

Honestly, I went to this guide because I was frustrated with Ayin's tutorials, but I found this tutorial much shorter and clearer. I do like that you don't use skips but dude, you could've done the effort of at least showing the jp in metrica with shortcuts :D it is one of the easiest jps ever

Pro-tip for anyone blowing about 120 gold like I did: you don't need to go to the start of the JP to use the item, just get "close enough" on the map and pop it. I never left a waypoint aside the world boss kills to complete mine.

I was hoping for some tips for doing the skyscale catch, as I'm stuck on the 'hard' one and I can't progress :(

At this time you probably have already made it past the Skyscale Reflexes, but I can give you some helpful advice to get past it without speed-boosts: 1. Make sure you stand at the apex (top) of the hill you play on (at the rock hiding the speed boost mushroom); this will ensure that you catch the far-balls in case your dragon decides it wants you to backstep. 2. Do not roll to overcorrect, as this could potentially make you roll over your intended area and miss it completely. Instead go back to an origin point in which you can see the catch-space in all directions and make a decision from there. 3. Keep calm; you have plenty of time to react and move back to your origin-point as the ball is flying towards your dragon. By the time she catches it and flings it back, you'll be ready to catch the next one. Even the spots further down the hill are easy to get to at a basic-running pace. Hope this helps any future viewers!
