I’ve been playing Guild Wars for over ten years and all I really do is quest and farm. I’ve always been really intimidated by all of the other things the game has to offer, but decided I wanted to understand finally- so this was tremendously helpful for me. Thanks so much for making this series!

This is one really good introductory video to the game! Having not played any games, let alone MMOs, before GW2 I would've really appreciated a video like this. I found things by asking, friends or guildies telling me and just sheer experimentation, but this is such a good thing for anyone who wants to start on an MMO, and of course, especially GW2.

there are newbies at any time in the game and even some veterans might learn a few new things, so MT`s new series makes sense, and MT is also someone who, unlike many others, is very good at this

I've seen a noticeable influx of new players a couple months ago. Actually GW2 is in the slow process of renewing its playerbase - the players who joined at launch is an audience quite different from the people joining now, many of them played GW1 etc. I joined GW2 1.5 years ago and I'm not a typical MMO player - I don't want to put 20+ hours a week into a single game, my "main" games so far were Warframe and MOBAs like Dota 2 and Smite. GW2 is a very good game and it can attract many types of players. So I guess each month quite a lot of people decide to try GW2 for the first time. Some come after getting bored with some other big MMO wanting to try something different, others get invited by their friends already playing GW2. We shouldn't underestimate the fact that the quality of GW2 actually shows and is very evident right from the start.

Although i know many are against it, I still think it is important to show people what Action Camera is and how to apply it. I know many people don't necessarily like it but there are many people who do and even more who don't even know about it. I am one of those who uses it, I love it but I wish it was shown off as an alternative to the combat flow for others. PS: I do realise that this can be explained in a different episode, im just putting this out there so that it can have a greater chance at appearing in one.

This video is a lifesaver! I started playing again. I only ever got as far as lvl 10 years ago and decided to play it again this week since I’ve always been curious to get a little deeper into it. Now that we’re all mostly indoors and have lots of time lol. This was very helpful, thank you!!!!

Finally back on the grind. I played merely a few months after getting the game nearly ten years ago so I have all these birthday presents for my five characters that I don't remember how to play. Going to check the video playlist to catch up and play this beautiful game to find out why the heck I left so soon. And I played a little GW 1, was pretty nostalgic.

Very helpful video, I've been playing GW2 for years (although not consistently), and I still found helpful things watching this. I always forget about the ability to draw on your squad's minimap and place markers! Also that's kind of an understatement to say the game doesn't explain its complicated mechanics. That's been a trademark of ArenaNet since GW1 lol

A few points were the vid is not exactly wrong but not fully right either: You can also move items and gold between accounts using a guild bank The core game also has masteries Players that have purchased a tag don't automatically appear on the map they also have to choose to to start a squad so if you see a tag it usually means that something is going on Players have cyan names, party members and their minions have blue names, guild members are orange, and ambient creatures are white talking about colors you should have said what the color coding was for the chat; red for map chat, green with white text for say chat, green with gray text for ambient dialog (although not all of it appears in your chat window), orange for guild chat of the guild you are reping, a muted orange for other guild chats, blue for party, green yellow for squad, dark red for team (used in pvp & wvw), purple for whisper, gray text with no name for combat targeted at you, white text with no name for combat from you , red text with no name for combat errors, green text with no name for game messages about your social stuff, yellow text with no name for game wide messages, and guild messages with no name and yellow text for guild message of the day. There may be more something I think you missed, the # by a players name is not always their level depending on where you are and what level the player is, if the number is white it is their effective level if there is an arrow next to it it means they are either a higher or lower level than that depending on the arrows direction this is the default, if it is yellow it is mastery level this is shown in general pve if the player has at least one mastery level, if the number is pink it is agony resistance shown always in fractals, I swear there is more but I am not seeing any Also you forgot to mention inventory options. Deposited all collectables is one of the most important tips for new players and saying that you can buy more/bigger bags would maybe help some very new players as well.

for solo content something like that will definitely work. although you might want more power precision and ferocity so you do more damage. Condi is also a very good option for solo on ranger so condition damage and condition duration!

To a certain extent yeah, but because of how easy it is to get gear in GW2 (no gear treadmill, gear from 5 years ago is just as good today) it really doesn't matter. Gear is also completely irrelevant in PvP - you just pick stats your equipment does nothing. A lot of cosmetics in the cash shop are pretty cool but there are also a lot of account bound (non tradeable) rewards in the game that you cannot simply buy with $$$.

Just started GW2 a month ago... this Interface is absolutely horrid. There is so little customization it makes me rage. And there is a fuck ton of visual noise that combat is completely obscured by player names, popup text, numbers... yes i know you can hide player names - BUT NOT IF YOU MOUSE OVER OR AIM YOUR CAMERA AT SOMETHING. w t f. and you turn off all these fucking number flying by 100 mph. Not to mention the game showers you with free loot and reward popups youd think this was a bernie sanders rally. Decent game BUT I CANT SEE ANYTHING UNDERNEATH ALL THIS NOISE
