Did you also finish Gift of Exploration and Gift of Battle in those 3 minutes? 🙄 There's still substantial work and planning needed for Legendary weapon; the WV boxes just shave a small percentage of that time down

especially for me, a "new" player or rather someone how only played gw2 10 years ago where there was no expansion and returned in SotO, this is still a considerably high amount of effort to put in and Legendarys are not given to us, if everyone could just get one for 1k vaultpoints this would be bad but i feel like the current way to where it's really just a starter pack is pretty neat and i like it.

I think that it makes a legendary for sure less of an achievement However, it sort of takes away one grindy part. Still, for a true gw2 player that wants all classes, having legendaries and trying all builds is a blessing that we cant do without. And I’m casual at best

For a new player like me there is so much work to be done so def legendary, but for a more veteran player I guess it feels less legendary because its easier obtainable. Thanks for the video

That makes sense but honestly, once you've finished exploring the map for gift of exploration and getting the gift of battle from wvw, you should have close to or about the right amount of materials for the rest 😀 especially if you've been gathering resource nodes. Check my gold guide if you need more help 😀 it's aimed at new players and helping them understand some of the methods and currencies a bit better

Definitely useful. For me as a returning Veteran player, I just redeemed this but did not open the box yet. I am currently prioritizing legendary armor and trinkets instead as those will help alot more. But when I'm done, I know that I still have this set in my bank waiting for me to choose which one I will need by then.

the legendary gear being easier to obtain is to help progress everyone, it still takes a long time to get exploration, gifts of battle, it is just to make it more affordable then what it was previously.

Honestly, unless you are a completionist or you just really want a specific appearance from G1, I would highly recommend just getting Gen3 (EoD) Legendaries... way easier to farm, a tad cheaper, less clovers needed so you can craft 2 for the price of 1 (in clover terms which are a pain to farm), and you don't need to explore the whole of vanilla GW2 maps + hearts + hero points.

It’s not really ”Given” to you! You still need to do 75% of the work yourself! What you get is monetary kickstart of like 40% of total cost.

Great video. Though some honorable mentions- don't buy obsidian shards from Wizard's Vault. In Straits of Devastation, WP Temple of Balthazar (if the event is done) is an merchat that sell Obsidian for Karma. Might take a couple of tries to find the event completed, but crafting legendaries is a marathon, not a sprint. Mystic Clovers can be bought from Mystic Well vendor for some Mystic Coins and Globs of Ecto. Besides that, also strike, raid, PvP and WvW vendors, just slightly different currency

@@enedark Speaks to the complexity of this game, this vendor was the only way to properly acquire obsidian shards in the base game. From the perspective of a beta player like myself, yes it's gotten much much easier, but for new players it is still a mountain of work requiring 100s of hours of gameplay to complete.

@@UtahSuka I can definitely see what you mean! It feels almost unfair towards us "veteran" players that new players get it so much easier, but with that said, I have more legendaries now than I even wanted when I started so I guess there is a benefit for us too :D

@@enedark it's not unfair, just the way it used to be, if you know all the systems in the game like veterans do, there's always a more efficient way to acquire things. A lot of systems are so old even players that have been playing for 5 years have no clue about them, they are that obscure.

I think it's good news? The rest of the mats are expensive and hard to get anyway. From looking at it, it doesn't seem to lower the total crafting cost much. Your perception might vary here. But to me, leggys are still very expensive and hard to make.

If you have ever crafted multiple legendaries from scratch then you would know this is a big deal. The two gifts the kit gives you are the hardest ones to make. It does save a lot of time and gold. This is not for casual players who barely play and do not know how to make gold which has never been easier. You have to do gold farming and possible alt-parking.

As long as you have the mystic clovers, and about 500g, you're laughing. I made Kamohoali'i Kotaki from Leg weapon starter kit 5 (which I had a feeling was going to be in this one anyway), it cost about 400g in mats, and sold it to a buy order of 2100g day one of the expansion. Minus the trading post's stupid cut in fees, which was about 275g, I came away with a profit of 1425g. Before this, my main source of coin was just casually farming/selling boxes from events, which *might* net me 200g? Also keep in mind, having an alt account doubles up the clover farm (which I do). Just keep in mind there's some planning, due to the 500g mail limit per week.

As an OG returning player, the requirements are just a turn off for the whole game. I get having content for the no-lifers, but expecting everyone to be able to grind some of this stuff out is just ludicrous. This game has a real problem with time-gating things through insane grinds that only no-lifers have time for.

I understand what you are saying but I don't agree... majority of my legendaries (including the armor) I got through only playing 30 minutes to an hour a day (apart from 4h raid sessions once a week for the armor). Just doing the dailies and a bit of other content (map exploration, pvp or wvw for the gifts) is enough if you are patient!

well for what I saw its just four legendaries right? so even if this made it substantially easier which is still not in itself easy even with this. This method leaves out most of the legendries. so this would be a legendary sampler without making it easy.

It's 4 legendaries per box 😉 in the video I opened set 4, but we are currently on set 5. You need Janthir wilds to be able to buy it tho, so not sure if everyone's arguement for "new players" make any sense as most new players will try the free version of the game first which is just the core tyria...

gift of battle is the only thing i wish they change...let me buy it / earn it in pve. It doesnt matter how, collection, achivments, tokens, materials, crafting...you name it, all i want is to have a way to ommit completely wvw.

You can literally get everything else in multiple ways( even the explorer one, hello you get 2?) so it’s lame that after all this time they have yet to change it or add to it etc

This is not for casual players who barely play and do not know how to make gold which has never been easier. You have to do gold farming and possible alt-parking. I convert volatile magic and gold into trophy shipments and unbound magic into magic warp bundles. Do all the Wizard's Vault things. I buy a magic clover every day from the mystic forge attendent and 6 mystic coins from the tp so it does not seem like big gold sink when I go to make the legendary. You need a routine.

I'm particular about getting the wizard's vault tasks and getting almost everything that's available for the season. I can typically make 1 or 2 gifts at a time but there's a tier of mats I'm missing usually and have to either mystic toilet it to upgrade or use the pact map supplies. Some things I simply have more of like a lot more blood than scales

You did not go into acquiring the resources and such to be able to make that in about three minutes. First you need the 77 Clovers, in the old system you only got so few through the RNG list and/or if you chose the special Legendary Crafting chest at the thirty day mark. Calculate how many Vault currency you need and note other methods if any for where one can acquire Mystic Clovers. Then, you still need all those rare materials and a stack of 250 of each. The only one of those that's easy to get is the Piles of Crystaline Dust as you can salvage Globs of Ectoplasm for those. i remember a requirement being to do full Tyria map completion and getting a thing from PvP, i'm assuming you do not need either of those?

It's the single reason why I haven't spent my, what is it, 5 legendary kits now? I probably should have spent the 1000 points on the endless gold, because 28 gold is worth way more than 1 box taking up a slot in my bank. Now that I think about it I should move them to an alt.

You can make a legendary every 90 days by doing about 33% of a map a day. You get two gifts. Then you only need to do about 18% of a map a day to keep up if you plan on doing more legendaries.

I have a couple of legendaries and I like the QoL they bring, but I would personally have preferred them to be tied to a real "quest" involving slaying certain end-game bosses and crafting certain end-game components from this, rather than "farm a bunch of X mats".
