They did a great job making Donnie more like 2003 but giving him a +2000 snarkiness. Unfotunately not many people liked Donnie but this series is giving him a nice medal! (Honestly, with all of them. Im a Raph/Mikey fan, liked Donnie, disliked Leo. This series made me appreciate everyone more)

maybe because he's a soft shell turtle in this version. raph is a snapping alligator turtle, leo is red eared slider, mikey is a box turtle. so his shell is weaker if compared to his brothers' so he has to be extra careful about protecting himself all the time. this is a different yet cool concept in this show!

exactly! Donnie is a spiny soft shelled turtle so he has to be extra careful because any damage to his shell could hurt his internal organs and kill him !

Man, if they ever do a third season (or even a sort of sequel series ala Naruto and Naruto Shippuden due to that clause where networks have to pay the workers more after a third season, which is why most series get dropped by then, the cheap bastards), I’d love it if Donnie got paired up with a neurodivergent version of Mona Lisa from the IDW TMNT comics. They’d be so cute together.
