While the episode is pretty short, the subject of air throws is so important that it deserves special attention, and practice dedicated to it. The next episode will cover many topics and will be much longer. If you like our videos please consider becoming a patron.

novriltataki I know they take a long time, but do you plan on doing character breakdown videos again?

No, other plans instead.

Nothing feels better in GG than pulling off a low to the ground air throw

I especially liked the part about defending against air-throws. I've been using these vids to help my BB play, and incase I ever get GG. Keep up the great work

These are always great and thanks for doing them. I hate to be that guy, but here goes: I REALLY liked the guilty bits style of narration. It was faster narration in general. Whereas now the narration with all of its super long pauses just feels super unnatural. I don't mind a faster speaker, I can always go and replay a section if need be, but when someone talks really slow it grates because you just sit there thinking "get to the point already" Anyways as I said I'm a huge fan of what you guys do and I hope more content comes around. I especially liked the chain routes discussions from airdash academy, I find myself re watching those periodically.

Press the gear icon in the youtube video and change the speed to 1.25. The faster option still sounds fine while the slower option sounds bad, so we make the default slower for non-native English speakers who would rather it like that, and you have the option to switch it to 1.25 speed.

About 9 8+hs air throws inputs,didnt u can use 9 4+hs to prevent accidental air dash ?
@novriltataki8 жыл бұрын
9 8+hs?

He means 9+6 I guess. 9+4 may prevent you from doing an air dash, but you can no longer do any OS, like 4+HS+P, since this will input a barrier. Ofc you can try to jump with 7 and throw with 6+throw, which has its pros and cons : you will be able to jump with your guard up from a brief moment, that may save you if your opponent went for an early jump attack, but you lose the opportunity to decide the direction you want your opponent to be thrown, which can be important for some characters. Keep in mind that they were only talking about instant air throw, very low to the ground, so it's very specific

I believe u can just slide from 9 to 6 without any fear of airdashing. As long as you don't return to 5 you're fine, I guess

Gosh, I hate throws in GG. A core basic mechanic shouldn't have difficult inputs

Pressing forward+2 buttons is difficult?
@gcavrubio6 жыл бұрын
Yes ;/ I have a lot of trouble doing dash throws and air throws. I've been trying to include them in my game plan, but taking it from the training room to the actual game is being quite difficult. Most of the times I just connect throws by luck or on reaction to a very close opponent.

You can't do throws while dashing. You need to break the dash with FD first. And as mentioned in the video, air throwing in a real match isn't easy. It's for very high level play.
@gcavrubio6 жыл бұрын
Exactly, this is why it is so difficult to apply throw in game situations
@gcavrubio6 жыл бұрын
novriltataki, I think I changed my mind about this. Throws being a more situational/advanced technique is not necessarily a bad thing. There are some good things about it.
