"No one can see the colours but you" is so true I mean, we all perceive colours differently, nobody will ever see colours like you do. We all look at life differently, including how we perceive the sky. The smile bit is kind of bittersweet as the fact if there's anything wrong with someone's smile that person is likely being troubled by something we can't see. The sad thing is we can never see Faust's smile, but something deeply troubles him to the point he's ended up like this. His mind was already torn apart by his past atrocities, but compared to how he used to be he's literally a shadow of his former self, looming over others with the HEAVIEST character shading ingame. He's almost always enshrouded in that dark shadow.

Nobody knows. There’s a list of things wrong with him both mentally AND physically. I’ve heard people say some PTSD hit him, messing with him mentally, but that doesn’t explain why he looks like that

All it says in-game and in his arcade mode is that he 'returned to his roots' and he says that he 'went back too far'.

Bald man is not his roots! His roots are before he even met the girl! This is the Faust we met in the first guilty gear prologue but only in the prologue when Faust was "normal" before bald head but I presume when he "went to far back to his roots" we can theorize that he dealt in the supernatural and was a very somber person! I still believe Faust is currently in possession of S-ko!
