Even better, it's not just an allegory for one thing. Depending on how you interpret it, it could also be Faust speaking to the little girl who he failed to save, with the colors referring to either the colors of a sunset, or the idea of heaven/hell/earth (red, blue, and black). It's incredible how layered the lyrics are.

It's one of the most lore driven songs in the game. Faust is a weird gag character with a dark backstory which explains the scalpel that turns into a fishing pole that turns into a golf club

Faust is insanity incarnate. He used to be a normal doctor, but went mad with guilt after his surgery on a small girl ended with her death. He became a serial killer, but this insanity eventually made him see the "fabric" of the universe, known as "The Backyard". This sort of enlightenment calmed his bloodthirst and helped him see a path again. To hide his disgusting past, he put a paper bag on his head and returned to treating people. However, streaks of insanity still bleed through every now and then, so he's know to be quite unhinged, and many characters are a bit scared of him. Thanks to his peek into The Backyard, he learned to manipulate and warp reality, which leads to his fighting style consisting of lethal gags that would normally serve to entertain or calm down children in hospitals, as well as general hospital utilities and customs, up to and including walking through doors, throwing funny stuff around (that explodes), and being an overall unpredictable menace with a hippocratic oath. In Guilty Gear Strive, his mental state has severely regressed as his knowledge of the Backyard seems to have eroded his sanity. As a result, he now slouches ominously, and takes on much more nightmarish imagery, while his past self tries to seize control. He still tries to help, but his demeanor has become so unnerving that most people just run by now. The lyrics of this song, as well as the dissonance to the metal foundation, reflect his chaotic and broken state, how he is losing his sense of self and cannot properly perceive the world anymore. He desperately looks for someone who can help him, but he also fears that such a "Messiah, will not come". As the voice of a killer from within himself whispers, he grows weak and hopeless, but is not ready to fully surrender yet.

Faust is the best doctor in his era. He is known as dr baldhead, after failing to safe 1 little girl's life he went on a killing spree. After that he change his mind and started helping people again but put on a bag this time hiding his face and later known as faust. He is funny and wacky guy but in gg strive he becomes sad and depressed. And his theme fits him, super wierd and all over the place.(keep in mind that I'm only saying his story in brief)

In the side story for strive It is actually revealed that he is all withered and dead as fuck Because saving Delilah took all of his energy and he knew he would go back to "square one" He is quite literally just exhausted

YAY glad you made this!! Faust is one of my absolute favourite Guilty Gear characters and his theme has made me cry multiple times loll. Multiple people have already explained his backstory so I won't bother, but I will say that Faust is a super duper fun, wacky character, and can do a lot of really silly stuff, including turn into a scarecrow and use his scalpel as a fishing rod!! He can do this because he can use magic, since magic exists in the Guilty Gear universe! So glad to hear you're interested in playing this game, it's super fun!

The Messiah part is because Faust, being the best doctor, was known as Messiah, after several events he became a serial killer later regaining his sanity and redeeming himself by helping those in need (although he does not think that is enough for redemption), then the Messiah part refers to his never coming back as the doctor humanity once knew.

The song is definetely weird. The initial part is multiple voices singing difirent themes apart, dissonant. And the last part is all voices come together and sing in uniison. To put it short Faust finally found himself after a while of not being himself. Also he's using a huge ass medical scalpel as a weapon.

Gotta say, werecrow is probably NOT outside the realm of possibilty in Guilty Gear. If you care to know, Faust is a doctor turned serial killer turned doctor again. He went through some fucked up shit (someone rigged his operation on a girl to fail), kind of went batshit insane, and is only just now kind of fixing himself? Gameplay-wise he's basically a looney tunes character, which is why you see him just pull a baseball bat out of nowhere, his giant ass scalpel is also sometimes a fishing rod, and he can eat people but not really.

The thing that makes the whole deal with Faust more tragic is the stark contrast between Faust from previous games and Faust in Strive. Even in the first game (Guilty Gear Missing Link) when he was meant to have started going insane and becoming a serial killer, there was an undeniable joy and euphoria in his voice and face, let alone the rest of the series where he started his path of redemption and became the lovable and goofy miracle healer who would help anyone in need and never ask for anything in return. The warm and friendly nature of Faust in those games is now contrasted in Strive by what is (assumed to be) just the empty husk of Faust, still clinging to those good natured ideals and steal trying to heal people and make them happy, but instead unintentionally harming and horrifying them.

If you do the story mode, make sure to watch the previous game's story mode first (Guilty Gear Xrd Sign and Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, in that order). If you don't, you're going to be so confused. Guilty Gear's story is already pretty layered, but it is worth it in the end. Very good characters. (Edit: ArcSys put the stories up for free on their youtube channel).

Honestly it's pretty metal and over the top but it's done really well

So Alone Infection is definitely a weird fuckin song, but I'd be curious how you feel about it as time goes on. After hearing it my first time, the only thing I could say was "What the fuck?" So I listened to it again, at which point I determined that actually... yeah, What the Fuck was the only response and that was the last time I ever planned to listen to this song. About a week later, though, it just slipped back into the back of my mind, so I had to go listen to it again, and since then it's slowly climbed into about the upper half to upper third of the Guilty Gear OST for me.

That wierd feeling you had with the vocals is totally warranted. But I don't get the video-game driven part? It has a lot of standalone qualities. It's maybe one of the most standalone song, and one of the least video game like song of the whole game. The vocals only matching uat the end is intentional. Faust is a wierd character.
