Nearly an hour of my beloved Romeo, this is what I needed. Edit: I'm back from watching the whole thing and oh my goodness that scene with Axl was too good. I think it's fair to talk about it now since this game is more than a few years old now but do yourself a favor and watch it first if you can. I always knew about Bedman's ambitions but seeing him actually level with someone personally is astonishing to me. This is a hyper intelligent, pretentious dream walker who has a distain for human emotions and ideologies. With that said, he admits that even he can't help but be human, in a sense. He loves sister and wants her to be in a world she can be happy, and make it to where everyone can be happy because that's the morally logical thing to do. There is a major flaw to his plan though, and that's the fact that he'd be in control of everything. The ideals of one person could never appease the majority of people, no matter how "fool proof" they may be. We're beings of conflict and he's well aware of this, so to remedy that, he'd inevitably would have to take away free will, which is something he doesn't want to do, from what I can tell. Bedman is definitely an open topic of discussion in the GG universe because it's super hard to understand exactly what he plans on achieving in the long run. We just know he wants to see his sister and it could be said he doesn't really care what happens next as long as he could be with her, which is what sets him and Axl apart.

So, based on all I understand about interpreting his actions, motivations, philosophy and the fact that his bed continues on in Strive, Im gonna guess he had the power to axe clownbait at the end there and chose to spend it on helping his sister. Which means from his conversation with Axl, that he did all this so instead of *just* helping his sister wake up, he could also be there for them and help other people. So when he lost the opportunity to get exactly the result he wanted, he chose a compromise where he can be with and help his sister, and killing the villain was gonna prevent that. Which uhh, I dunno how many more people clownface over there kills after this but I guess he accepted that too.
