6:20 Sondre: when driving wedges don't have your leg up against the tree as someone else is making the backcut. If the tree isn't round the bar might poke back through or they might move the power head too a different position to reach the far side and hit your leg.

I think he does this because how he does back cuts is quite different and there is no risk of the bar poking out. In the norway video with Sondre it seems like the way they do backcuts in Norway is they do a plunge cut a few inches from the "far" side face cut corner and plunge halfway through the tree, bring the bar around halfway(so a "quarter" slice of the pie is cut with the nose of the bar in the dead center of the tree), put a wedge in, then continue around to the other corner of the facecut. Through this process the nose of the bar is pretty much always in the tree. He explained they do this to insure that they can get a wedge in while theres still a ton of holding wood and with the bar orientated in a way where you can get the wedge deep in quickly without the bar in the way. I assume this is because while their trees are fairly tall they are also quite skinny, so not alot of space to drive a wedge in with a conventional back cut even if theres enough weight to get pinched.

Also helps to knock the bark off where your wedges are going. The bark doesn't help lift the tree at all and it limits your travel with the wedge.

The 395 came out in 1996. It has few changes other than the cylinder and intake boot (vs block), to its predecessor, the 394, which came out in ‘91. So damn near 35 years of the same platform. It’s really impressive. Kinda like following the 044-046-440-460-461 Stihl saws. That 1128 series had some serious staying power too.

Husky some years ago, bought Jonsered,,, for the engineering team. The saws produces by Jonsered and Husky 20 years ago are absolutely the best. On the second tree the sawyer stayed much too long cutting. Once the tree starts to go walk or run away. Especially because of the rotted core, a barber chair will kill you dead.
