Just got mine- its identical to the first pic here! all Black 2012 with Bose audio package. Only had 30k on it when i found it a month ago. Took me 3 years of everyday searching to find a low mile mint example that was less than 5 hours drive one way. I absolutely love this thing. Let me know any tips or tricks/ mods/ etc that are worth doing and dont devalue or permanently change it. Im planning on babying it for life and storing it each winter so it stays minty. Love the vid man. Thanks i subbed

That's dope man! I didn't do any research when I bought this one , I just wanted one for a very long time. You should definitely join a Mazdaspeed group on facebook,, There are some toxic groups but there are some good folks out there willing to help. Definitely Get an Accessport, HPFP internals and find a Tuner to get a base map tune (Justin from FreekTune is my tuner, but you'll need patience most tuners including him will take time to respond, because of the large amount of emails they receive). To keep it reliable , it's all about maintenance - quality oil changes, light upgrades (turbo, intake, exhaust, etc.) Thanks for the comment! And I appreciate the sub 🙏🏾

The clutch jobs on these particularly suck because you have to remove the whole engine and getting it back in is no fun

Nice build however I didn't see hpfp internals on this list, if you haven't install a set of those then I'd highly suggest that you do.
@GuimardJoseph2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yea that was taken cared of - the previous owner had that installed - plus the motor I'm running with now has internals as well so I'm good 🙏🏾

Looking sick dude! I'm thinking if buying one of these. Any tips?
@GuimardJoseph2 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro. Do as much research as you can before modding it. Try to avoid one that's already modified (unless it's lightly modified; ie intake, catback exhaust) Compression test it before purchase - don't know how? Make friends with a mechanic that would be able to check the car with you. Join Mazdaspeed groups - some are toxic but there are some folks that would lend a helping hand. For longevity and reliability, get upgraded HPFP internals - even if you're stock!

So you just cut down the factory crash bar for the FMIC?
@GuimardJoseph2 жыл бұрын
Yea, I did. But I don't recommend it lol. I advise getting a "crashbar" from JBR or Corksport if you convert to a large FMIC because it's a lot cleaner and you'll have a front tow hook mount as well.

Was it hard putting in the ACT clutch and flywheel?
@GuimardJoseph2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, No. Once you get the transmission out, it's smooth sailing. Make sure you torque the bolts to spec tho. If you don't have a torque wrench, buy one. It was pretty easy just time consuming. Especially since I was having anxiety and working full time 🙃 😅. The HARD part was putting the transmission back on 😅 Buy a box of large ziplock bags and sharpies and label them for the bolts and some parts so you wont forget or lose them and take pictures; that will help A LOT.
@grape00jellly2 жыл бұрын
@@GuimardJoseph damm got it! thanks.. knowing me it will take like 4 days of working on it on and off lol any difference with the ACT? Im basic bolt on ~285 so I think when the clutch goes i might consider the upgrade but idk
@GuimardJoseph2 жыл бұрын
@@grape00jellly took me almost a week on and off, put that was also from overthinking. Definitely a difference, my opinion it was a alot smoother but im currently running the Xclutch which grips really nice.
