Scotty, I love the Gari Bear T shirt! It came today, I pray for Gari, I was telling my daughter about his health issue, I am praying he gets totally cured! I ordered the shirt a couple of sizes bigger, I want to wear it as a night shirt. I love if! Oh, these girls are just precious, I'm so thankful they are getting good care now, I will sleep better! I'm going to do the fundraiser next week, I've already mentioned it to some of the neighbours, everyone seems to want to help out, people around here have dogs, many are rescues, so they understand. I saw quite a few people mention my piggy T shirts, so I think I'll have a good response from people when I ask for donations, lol! I'll be wearing my L.A. guinea pig rescue shirt!

When we adopted Buzz and Messy from Ayr Guinea Pig Rescue and Re-homing, we were going to pick up two cute young ones. When we got there, I changed my mind. The two boys set out for us were super cute but I asked who was there longest and we got our senior statesmen, Buzz and Messy! I do not regret it for a single second! I'm so glad that those girls were found in time! They're both so cute and sweet. It's funny Saskia, I go to my rescue and ask for the shy/mad/hard to handle pigs. I feel like because I have experience with those kinds of pigs I can offer them a home that won't return them. I also prefer black piggies or the ones with red eyes because I know those are the hardest to find homes for. Of course, it's my other pigs that have the final say on which piggie is right for the herd :)

My daughter and I volunteer at the CNY (Central NY) Cat Coalition it’s a rewarding almost therapeutic experience after a long week. I do wish we had a Guinea Pig rescue like this in our area we need it but for now we don’t have anyplace quite as amazing for our local piggies in need. Thankfully there are some independent fosters around but it would be so nice if we had a location such as this to really run everything out of like we do for the cats. Occasionally we do get a few pigs through the spca but it’s not common, only if fosters are full. Maybe one day here we can get something better going for the guineas as well, I’d definitely be a ready volunteer!

Is it okay for them to bite each other? I have a three month old boar who suddenly had a small bite out of his ear within a week of getting his cage mate who is a year old boar. I’m sure it was the year old who did it because I didn’t notice it before I got the year old and also the year old had never had a herd before I got him. Is this normal behavior?
