The French women is actually highly disputed and almost definitely proven as false. She assumed her mother’s identity in the 30s to avoid inheritance taxes so the 1870s birthdate was actually her mothers. It’s a very interesting read how they’ve shown that her physical features don’t match in pictures and that when she was cognitively tested at “118” that doctors unanimously agreed that she was in her 70s or 80s.
@zenzizenzizenzic6 жыл бұрын
More evidence has been provided to prove Jeanne Calment's age than for any other supercentenarian. So much so in fact that Jeanne's case has become the standard by which all other cases are marked. For more information check out the Gerontology Research Group who work with Guinness to verify any claims of age records.

Regarding Shigechiyo Izumi, he's not even listed in "oldest people" lists anymore and they're displaying an exhibit they should probably modify. "His case was initially verified by Guinness World Records, who titled him the oldest man ever, but Guinness later withdrew their verification and in the Guinness World Records Book 2012 Christian Mortensen is titled "the oldest verified man ever" (since superseded by Jiroemon Kimura...) and Izumi is not mentioned." Also, "The Guinness World Records Book 2011 states that "The birth certificate submitted as evidence might actually belong to his older brother, who died at a young age; if the family used Shigechiyo as a 'necronym'-that is, gave him his dead brother's name, as the new research suggests-this means his final age was 105 years old, not 120.""

Oldest human that ever lived (that was able to be verified) was Jeanne Calment. She was 122 when she died. For a 'records museum', it's kinda sad that they can't even get their basic facts straight! And Jeanne died in 1997 ... so it's not like they didn't have enough time to update their display!

You know, instead of measuring the largestvevgie or fruit, I might add, that you can give them, to the local homeless shelter. Maybe after measuring them. That way, you can keep a record of it, even taking pictures, and/or videos.

Something was up with that scale... it kept jumping back and forth between 299 and 250... I'd say the 250 is more likely; not only do you not look 299 but given how much physical activity you get now with all the video shooting you do I have to think you couldn't possibly be pushing 300... 😄 I'd eat both the five pound orange AND the 124 pound cabbage; I like both... 😜
