Ocean gate was all about a quick buck. Getting wealthy clients to the wreck by the cheapest method possible. That said, the waivers that these passengers had to sign appeared to outline all the facts concerning the experimental construction of this submersible and the fact it had not been certified as fit for purpose by any of the relevant safety organisations. Unfortunately for the passengers, Stockton Rush appeared to be a very convincing & reassuring salesman.

It makes me happy to see the ocean is still being explored, we live in an age where it’s 10 times easier to explore space than it is our own oceans. @@motoboggin2619 You’re being way too literal my man, by stating that humanity prioritizes space travel over ocean exploration I am implying that the prioritization is causing difficulty. Meaning it’s a lot harder to explore the ocean when the vast majority is focused on space. I’m not saying the task itself is more difficult, I’m saying it’s more difficult because of human priority. I can’t tell if you’re arguing for the sake of it or what but the prior is basically the summary.

I'm impressed by Mr. Vescovo because he was able to give a fairly detailed, informative and succinct tour / overview of the ship, diving operations, engineering, crew quarters etc... All the while, at no point was his narration about himself or how awesome we're all supposed to think he is, which is curiously rare / refreshing these days. Too bad Stockton Rush was the polar opposite of Mr Vescovo, as we would all bear witness to a couple years after this video was posted. FWIW Mr. Vescovo, I'd be as relaxed and confident as I'd be thrilled to take a ride with you down to the east pool.

“Ach du lieber, mein schatz”! Wonderful video! Great tour!! 1. Would have liked to have seen the CABLES that lower your diver. I assume there are at least TWO thick ones of great strength! 2. Where do you store the OARS?! Maybe yust PADDLES! 3. Where’s the OUTHOUSE on the diver?? How do you “DO IT”? Do you yust go “outside”? 4. WHO finances your missions & what are the costs? “YUST” is Swedish for “JUST”! Youmpin by yimminy”!!!

We need more videos of such people doing these great things that most of us don't even realise how important they are... the ability to conceive knowledge is the greatest ability that we humans have and such things might not be entertaining to most of us but it still is very important...I don't know if us watching this video would contribute to such voyages or not... I hope it does even if a bit ... congratulations for what you have achieved and all the best for your new endeavours !
