Short story_ I recall being on the Adam's first headlining tour in 86/87 (Reckless?) as the systems engineer. It supposedly "not cool" for the crew guys to bring their own guitars, to play on the bus or hotel room even, privately. Not sure why. I missed playing and practicing, after a few weeks. I complained about this to Keith, one day. He said to me, "any time you want, just grab one of mine". He had quite a few nice axes out on the road, at that time. I thanked him and probably picked one up to noodle on, the next day, probably before soundcheck. Just doing a line-check, fuck-off ladies!....hahaha. His string gauge was so extremely heavy, I could barely form a cowboy chord. It hurt my wrist and left hand. I used Adam's guitars thereafter, for my nefarious purposes, as he used my own string gauge of 9-42. Kieth and the band, when Bryan had to do radio promo or whatever, and missed that particular soundcheck would sometimes do a cover of Becks "The Pump" for FOH soundcheck and just nail it! A really great creative guitarist, very nice man and has no ego to speak of. Good on ya mate!

Great story - thanks for your comments - he is a great guy, and those strings are 12 or 13s with heavy bottoms, tuned to pitch. He has extremely strong hands, bends these things past a whole step like it's nothing. Some guitars can take a serious beating, with this heavy gauge over the years, and develop serious flaws. As we know, guitars can become very sentimental. I've worked for so many guitarists, and this is one of the only guys I've ever seen be able to play past serious flaws in a guitar, because he is so skilled.

Saw Keith Scott play with Bryan Adams last night. Keith's solo tone blew me away. I could see on the big screen he had the selector switch on #2 (bridge and middle p/up) and it was the fattest solo tone Ive ever heard from a strat. I'd love to know more about what gear he's using for his glorious tone!

That's funny lol it would be a dis-service to stick a pedal into this amp. What you're hearing is tube tone.

Cool video! Always enjoyed his playing/creativity & sound. Your amps sound great! Congratulations. PS. Does Keith use heavy gauge strings? I thought I read somewhere that he uses 12-??... strings??👍🏼
