Looking forward to seeing this. I used tape once, and i dont think it worked out well. I dont remember... You have a crucible yhat holds yhat much aluminum???

I plan to make this pour this weekend (with the video sechedule for Dec. 13). That's my biggest concern, crucible capacity. I didn't think about it one bit until after I initially cut out the foam pieces. Then, after spending all that time doing that, I had to decide if I was wanted to keep going, or scrap what I had done and retry after resizing the project. I decided to press on, if for no other reason than gained experience. And it will make for an interesting video (I hope). I already have in mind what I will need to do for my secod attempt. I'm also thinking about swtiching to investment/ceramic slurry instead of plaster. Dipping/submerging the foam will probably do a better job of getting into the nooks and crannies of the piece, which include two tunnels. There is only one real problem that I can "see" in my head with what I have in mind if/when I need to make that second attempt . . . it will probably need to be asymmetric. I love symmetry. Ahhhh . . . it's part of the journey.
