BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- Nashville recording artist and Brunswick County native Justin Johnson, 33, has been called an “American master.” The guitar player can trace his musical influences as far back as you can go in American music, to Delta blues, gospel and slave field songs. His latest instrumental album entitled, “If Walls Could Talk,” is a soulful study in the slide guitar stylings and musical diversity that have put Johnson on Nashville’s radar. Growing up in Southport, Johnson would try to make music on anything he could find around the house. Usually that was an old guitar with just one string. Later he learned piano and played trumpet and baritone in the South Brunswick High School marching band. Johnson’s passion for music was stoked by high school band teacher Buddy Gudger.

A Walk in the park for him as anyone that knows his playing & have been to his channel knows he's an amazing talent at all styles & very versed when it comes all guitars ,amps pedals & everything in between. A funny guy with gobs of talent & one fine craftsman in his own right. I feel sorry for those guys in front of him that just stare , no foot tapping no smiles no feeling ,makes wonder why they even at this . Justin is only showing a tiny bit of just what he can play & if he didn't win this hands down i sur would love to see & hear who beat him . I seriously doubt is he lost this one he's way too good to not be first in line .

I feel like Justin picked up right where Johnny Winter left off! Everything from his playing to his demeanor to how he dresses. Lots of bell bottoms and turquoise jewelry hahaha cool hats. Everything to carry that rock n roll attitude. And when he gets a cigar box guitar cranked through some fuzz and an amp he crushes the hill country and that drone like delta sound that’s so thick and sludgy and then turn around and play a jump blues, rockabilly, or Texas Roadhouse blues!!!
