The Definitive Edition mod for Guitar Hero World Tour is also a good option for playing GH on PC. There are song packs available for pretty much all of the full band games, including their DLC, and support for custom characters, venues and instruments. Where else are you going to see Walter White, Sandy Cheeks, MrBeast and Lady Dimitrescu performing Bohemian Rhapsody?
@dalegendary0052Ай бұрын
In terms of moderns alternatives, I would also recommend Fortnite Festival, which can be played without a guitar controller, or Yet Another Rhythm Game (YARG), which plays similarly to CH, but with some different options.

I always found it crazy that artists like Prince, Jimmy Paige, and Jack White didn't see any value in rhythm games, especially considering that maybe half of the songs I know and love came from the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. The number of CDs or individual tracks I bought on iTunes because of these games, the music history that I've familiarized myself with, the appreciation for nuanced details in specific songs... it all comes from these games. Thanks for uploading! It was cool to see your journey with these games as well, and I'm glad your life really turned around from your lowest point (with a little help from a cool little brother and Guitar Hero II of course 😎)

i must say that guitar hero has had great impact on my music taste. I didnt grow up with the games and probably only tried to learn to play first time when I was 16 but since then I've played so much guitar hero (mostly clone hero), collected guitars, had gatherings and met new friends because of playing Clone Hero. I definitely enjoyed the jakey inspired editing and motifs you used throughout the first half or so of the video. Inspiration is always great and I'm not saying that as a diss I just thoroughly enjoy that editing style and script writing. I think alot of things that harmonix said back in their pre 2010s era was really truly about just getting people interested and engaged in music whatever way they could. Even if it was fantastical or more grounded they always seemed to want to stick the love of music into their players. Think this video definitely proves their vision have affected the people the way they wanted to. Alot of nostalgia driven posts about GH and RB are on the rise these days because the kids that were not even 10 playing these games now have bills and such. This video demonstrates the love for that single idea of delivering music in a fun way. There seems to be alot of content out nowadays that is nostalgic for the sake of it but there's a real purpose to this video and why the love for this seemingly minor thing is actually important to so many, very much a breathe of fresh air content wise. So yea i fucked with the vid

5:12 honestly I thought back to Rock Band 3's pro mode and how much potential it could have had if it was more polished and if the game just sold well in general. Harmonix's objective with Guitar hero (at least the ones they worked on) and Rock band was to allow people to have a new appreciation for the music, so having a mode teaching people how to actually play the songs on a real guitar or piano, and releasing peripherals that could be used as actual MIDI instruments was a natural evolution of that concept. Of course now the only way to use said pro mode (aside from the drums) is on Rock band 3 (emulation or just the console) but hopefully YARG can fill the void since they're actively working on adding the pro modes to the game.
@KasorePhilАй бұрын
@@SpectacularSpiderFan yeah I actually had that wacky 108 button guitar for rock band 3 and I was so excited for it until it turned out to just not work that well. There’s so much room in this market for tools like that but just no one with the money or vision to lead it in this climate. I hope we see someone break through. Even if it has to be Fortnite. 🤣
