@@michaelm.2736 guitar controllers are either rare, expensive, or both. there is no excuse for breaking shit over a video game, ever. especially something as niche as guitar controllers. it doesnt matter how many tries you put into something. it’s fine if you get angry, scream, curse, hell you can even cry if you want, and I wouldnt even be bothered that much if you banged on your desk as long as you know its sturdy and it wont break something, but if you are smashing and snapping your controller and shit, that shows an extreme lack of emotional maturity and it means you need to play something else or take a fucking break.

It's kinda similar to getting mad during speedrunning; they're putting a lot into getting the perfect run. Said perfect run can be a bitch to get. I don't think them smashing the controller is good or healthy, and I do think that they should be using a more conducive way of venting frustration, but I know it's because of the passion they're putting into the game, and with high passion comes limited foresight; they might do something they know is bad and shouldn't do because they aren't thinking. I'm not gonna try and be high and mighty and tell them to stop taking it so seriously as that'd be hypocritical of me to do so, as I can have a short temper when gaming too. I care about gaming, and I get mad because I care. Try telling a mechanic he shouldn't get mad if he's trying to fix an engine that won't work and stay fixed.
