Thank you David! I was a guitar picker in my younger days. An accident left me disabled and arthritis has set in making it difficult to play without pain. Watching your videos and listening to your instruction has renewed my interest in playing. It's not been easy but I persevere. Thank you sincerely. You have given me reason to try again and your lessons are so informative. You have made an old man cast off the chains of doubt and slowly regain the one thing that has ever given me happiness. My guitar.

Hey, I really enjoyed this lesson. I've watched many on this song. I am still very new to guitar; 9 months ish. However, I can do the picking pattern, with the other little pattern change after the second repetition. I have yet to find a video that shows the rest of the song. Usually, the vid goes into strumming after the intro. My question; are you able to do a second of these with the picking through more of the song?

I have tried to learn guitar too many times to count and tonight I happily stumbled upon your lesson and low and behold I got the chords and the simple strumming. I even feel like I can tackle the more complex strumming. I am not sure why and how your lesson got through but it did. I am going to check out the other lessons and just wanted to say thank you. You taught it in a way my brain can comprehend it. Thank you!

Ps. For a little context: This is one of my fav songs and I have tried learning it from others before so I am seemingly challenged and maybe it’s just a moment in time but I could strum the whole song. Who the fack knew.
@codyleach9363 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same, I'm currently tackling the more complex strumming but I've played the first part for the past 4 months so it feels as if it kinda comes naturally. It's been fun. A couple other songs I found easy for beginner was a simple version of 'house of the rising sun'- the animals & 'hurt'- by Johnny cash.

I discovered your channel this evening and am over the moon. I took guitar lessons a decade ago, but due to lack of time because of the demands of career, I had to abandon the practice. There are varying levels of quality in online instruction, and for me, yours is absolutely perfect. I love that you display a tab alongside the video of your playing. Usually, these are separate depictions. I also admire that you don’t get too technical with theory, modes, etc. I am very much looking forward to exploring your channel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

@richrinehart10834 жыл бұрын
I just discovered your videos and your site and WOW! You have covered basically everything for those of us who are basically tone deaf beginners. I am getting back into playing after a 20+ year hiatus. I used to play with my dad and I lost him after we had spent the night playing like we always did at least 4 or 5 nights a week for the last couple of years while he terminally ill. We played from 7pm to about 2:30 am and I left him at the kitchen table to go home and get some sleep. A family friend found him about 8:30 that morning. He had passed sometime after I left him. My dad always played 12 stringers and when I asked to learn to play he taught me on one of his other 12 stringers. So I have finally been able to pick up the guitar I learned on out of the case without having a lump in my throat and tearing up. It really tore me up when I lost him So I just started to put some work in trying to get my fingers back into shape. I really suck right now. I mean I am awful!!! It's going to be a battle to get my hands un-connected from each other in my brain and get them to do opposite things at the same time. You pretty much take it for granted when you are playing every day or two. I cannot believe how bad I really am LOL This is just like starting from the absolute bottom of the food chain. I have clicked the subscribe button because I think you have put together a great site that really spreads the song out allowing people to learn songs that I for example would never be able to figure out on my own so that people would know what I am playing. My dad only played mostly 60's music like Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Roger Miller etc. So I definitely have my work cut out for me. The only plus in this whole crazy adventure is that I recently have had to retire due to problems with my back that cannot be fixed so I have lots of time on my hands to dedicate to reviving what I used to have with my dad. I still remember most all of the songs we played together so I will slowly put together the "Peacemakers" standard set list from 1967 and play them all. That was my dads band. Del Shannon was my dads drummer and he wrote "Runaway" with Del and they played it way before Del took a leap of faith and hit it big. Thanks for your efforts and I look forward watching more of your lessons. Your site is awesome.
