I been waiting for this song to have a lesson. I’ve tried learning from others but they don’t play it as it sounds honestly. Glad I rolled across this because this is one of my favorites. The beginning is like a whole orchestra just on guitar. Chris Cornell was and still is (in my book) the best song writer in the world. He’s a music icon and an inspiration to all of us musicians

That called "wasting time", not "learning guitar". Because if it takes 17 years for you to just learn this one song then you have an understanding problem. But I guess it's a joke, I hope..17 years from now my target is to be successful with my life, not just successful on mastering a single song guitar chords. But if it's not a joke, it's only takes not even a year to mastering guitars! After that you can just play any song for just 2 or 3 days with your guitar. It's not that hard, people are just being lazy to learn, so they think it'll actually take that long to learn just one single song guitar. That's ridiculous!

@@RyanLendt You should've! I always did in the days when I was still parsing out difficult ones by ear and eye. Difference then was we mostly had to wait for the tours to come around to 'see', and you got one look if you were lucky. Not much different for you really though, I noticed on the vid you used they hid Chris's left hand on some strategic bits via editing. I'm terrifically thankful for younger teachers like yourself these days, saves me a lot growls and grumbles lol. Especially on a bit like this with all those antiphonal notes going on, sheeeshhh!! In the chord that goes after the G chord on the bridge section,the little finger goes to the fret number 5,(this totally change the shape on the fingers structure of the left hand) and yes! is very small change but makes a better harmony with the vocal lines in that section. Great lesson thanks Ryan! Is there any way you can do a fallow up video on the verse that leads back up to the chorus, right after the bridge? if that make sense lol. Its basically the intro part, played twice, but there are a couple extra strums thrown in there at the end/beginning. That looks way more confusing written down than it sounds in my head. The part of the song from 2:20-2:36. Im sure i can use my earballs to figure it out but you are much better than me so i would love to see you do it! Thanks!!
@RyanLendt

Do you mean when it happens twice, once with the twangy instrument that does it in the intro intro, and once again with a much lower instrument?
@kurthodge12

Yes that part. I listened closer and figured it out i think. You do the into part one time. Then when that lower instrument is playing, you just play the normal verse behind it. Then back to the lead up to the chorus. Got it dialed now haha. Thanks for getting back to me tho! Also, not sure if this is the best spot for a request, buuuuuut.. STP 'Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart' would be a great video for you to do. Maybe minus the solo..

hey, love your channel, I use it either to corroborate what I already know or to learn songs I don't know, happy to know there is other jammers out there, just a suggestion, can you play the full part that you are about to teach and dismember so I have a quick reference and I don't have to watch the detailed explanation on how to put my fingers on a C chord or a D chord, I enjoy your videos a lot, but I have to move forward a lot so I get to where you have all the part together, I mean this is just a suggestion, but it would help if I had the part that you are about to teach played on normal regular speed and probably then the explanation, I use your explanations too, specially when it comes to weird chords that I don't catch right away, anyways, I really appreciate what you do for this world brother, from Cherryville B.C Canada with love

I wanted to share a cool practice technique for being able to practice a song and learn the chords better without looking at the guitar and just play bound listening to the sound. This also helps my timeing also and strumming! I would not do it Untill I get the song down decent and know all the words. Go into the bathroom and turn off the lights and practice the song. Man it gets intense! Lol. The accoustic sounds amazing in the bathroom :)

Yea it’s really becoming part of my process! Even for writing songs. I have been realky focusing on that! I love it. I developing my creative process for that rightnow. Finding different things that helps me tap into to a creative source where the Melody's that I come wth star speaking words in my head. I like to “ghost sing” I just start saying what ever words pop in head even if the words make no sense:) while I try to find my Melody’s and rhythm at first. Then the words. I kind of use that same creative process. I would use when trying to find a character should and become him or her lol. I will also uses smells and-listen to different song. Which is called “sense memory” it’s a technique used when studying the Method. It brings truthful emotions to the surface by using you senses!

The Seeker it’s not too difficult at all honestly. The only hard part is the damn Bb in the chorus. I hate that chord with a passion

Lol I know me too. I remember it was a pain in the ass when I was learning “Gimme some truth” That’s actually the song that helped me get that chord down some what. I don’t even like playing that chord as a power chord either.

Sadly, some people don't feel very good about themselves so they feel the need to spread negativity. While I'm sure some of my videos deserve a thumbs down, this isn't one of them. How rude, clearly not a PJ&F.
