My take is that only a handful of people who come across this video will watch it all... and even fewer will actually do it.
Many of the people who actually do it can do it already and just want to test themselves...
But a select few folks will realize that this sort of thing is one of the most powerful skills you can have for learning music (not just guitar.)
So if you're a beginner or intermediate player who struggles with time and speed... please do this for a couple of months and tell me if it doesn't improve a lot of other things you're trying to play!

These are the kind of lessons that go into the practice book. Clear. Shown. Thanks

Thanks Griff! I'm so guilty of ignoring these types of drills. "Time" to get back at it. (I know, lame. Groan!!)

Absolutely right. I started as a percussionist/drummer, and counting is the most important. I play guitar now and Absolutely count everything, pretty soon ya start to feel it automatically. But learning a new lick I count all the time. In fact when I learn a lick, my favorite thing to do to totally own it, is to change the starting point and timing of the lick.

1/8 notes was my in person teachers big practice push .. what he called “the 4’s” ,was chromatic scale up and down neck with a metronome ….i could never get past 120 bpm,and not necessarily the cleanest at that after quite a long time of daily trying (over a year, awhile back ) ..this is when i decided i wasnt gonna be any sort of real guitar player …am now going to be trying again ,so lesson this is perfect for me 👍🏼

Good timing on this today, Griff. Found that I was able to get to 100 for the eighth notes, but only 60 for the triplets. Gives me something to work on now.

Perfect timing, Griff! (Excuse the pun) I'm currently working hard on moving bw 8ths and triplets and even 16ths, but your video has now given me a great structure to approach my practice with. As always, very grateful for your time.

That is pedagogy, for sure, but necessary stuff. Guilty of not paying attention to this enough for virtually every instrument I play!
